The difference between 3000 life on hit and 100 is very, very vast.

Instead of spewing random nonsense you could try to test it out yourself.
Arbitrary placeholder decisions should never be embraced as final.
To reply to the OP, you don't, you use other tools : movement & crowd control

temporal chain + effective freezing skill (freezing pulse) + abyssal cry + arctic armor is a neat combo for example, while toying around with flame totem and golem.

It's exactly 2900 life per hit in difference, which has exactly 0 to do with what you're talking about.

You're claiming that life on hit only grants you life PER attack and not PER target hit, and you're wrong, which is exactly what Boem was telling you. You're the one spewing nonsense, not him.
There is a vast amount of negative feedback regarding the leech changes - I actually wonder if they will change, or if the community will continue to do what it eventually does and just adapt.

Mind you, I am playing a summoner mostly for this new league, so the leech changes don't impact me much.

Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years.

Best of luck in the future!

Again, clearly clueless.

I can't pinpoint exact where the issue with life on hit starts, it may be that ice crash , molten strike, wild strike, lightning strike (the skills I tested it with) all react poorly to it, it may be that specific one handers react poorly with life on hit, it may be that there is a life on hit cap per second or per % hp or a variation on this now implemented, it may be an issue with the skill gem itself along with claw life on hit implicit mod. Regardless, it's obvious both you and Boem are trolling for the sake of spamming the forums with useless sludge.

Also remember that all claw implicit leech / on hit are now local , so at best , with claws , leech and loh have been halved , and at worst reduced to 0 for skills that use the main hand only when using a claw in off-hand. By comparison, daggers still apply their effect from off hand when the main hand is used. this specific change was clearly not tested in the beta since a more elegant claw LOH/Leech nerf would have been halving the implicit values outright.

The negative feedback comes from high level softcore players that don't or can't use life flasks ( with surgeon mod) who can no longer face tank bosses without repositioning from their telegraphed attacks.

For normal players, the change made leech ten times better since it stacks with itself AND with the numbers of targets hit, so low dps (think self found early merciless) works fine with leech now, as opposed to useless before.

Bottom line, leech is half as effective for high dps, 100 times more effective for low dps.

As a high lvl standard player leech is still fine. I already have a caster who can face tank most map bosses, same as before the patch.

I don't understand the math of it myself, but it is really simple, the clusters at the south of the tree are enough to trivialize most everything leech wise. Unless you are running a crappy hybrid character that lacks any kind of sound defense I suppose. ;)
Keep PoE2 Difficult.

You are an AoE spec. Don't be surprised 1v1 fights feel bad. Just as a 2H DS'er wouldn't complain about his AoE clear speed...

Most builds have AoE spec, you only have 1 5L/6L most times so your main skill is AoE + Single target at once.

Cyclone, Glacial Cascade, Kinetic Blast, Tornado Shot etc ...... AoE spec is the standard, being forced to use 2 skills when you lack 4+ linked items is bullshit.
