I have experimented with a +2 mana on hit jewel and if i had 2 of them I could swap out BM with LMP, life gain on hit, culling strike, accuracy etc

With one jewel mapping is fine and I have 28 mana unreserved so i just socketed both lightning strike and molten strike for easy maps

What do you think of doing this for the armour/life build?

also made a sweet jewel for the hybrid build wich i will eventualy work towards
That jewel begs to be Exa'd, do it! :D Great rolls on it, my aim is/was to craft Life/ESoH/IAS on all my jewels precisely for the same reason, to allow me more leeway for hybrid variants and perhaps a version 4 of the build.

One question, how extensively did you test the Mana on Hit jewels and did you also pick up Mana on Hit from the passive tree? Any OOM issues?

Mana on hit works pretty well i came from the sgw mjolner build and it was the go to there, (No mana regen maps are hard). My main interest in it now would be to see if it helped in a non legacy gear uber run, i think lmp is 20% more projectiles.
I just used one +2 jewel, and the skill cost 21 mana while i had 28 unreserved (im using grace, AA and PoL)
finding a way to get it on 2-3 jewels and then somhow making enough mana available, probably need atleast 40 mana unreserved to slot in LMP/LoH, would be pretty strong.

I guess the MoM/EB build couldnt really do it becuase they need those +3 es OH jewels but for the life armour build it should be possible.

When i tested it briefly i had no issues clearing maps considering it only took 2 attacks to cleap most packs, on the bosses i think it was fine too since were using multistrike molten strike it creates a bucket load of hits (even more if you used LMP now I think of it) so it regenned very fast

I could see it being harder in no regen maps especially since there is a delay before the balls start hitting on molten strike, maybe there is a limit to the amount of attack speed you could have using this because of that reason.

I cant afford the +1 voids and am liking AA too much to use PoF even though with the voids your resists are amazing, im going to try and replicate it using alphas howl and find a way to make up for the chaos resist and attack speed on my gloves and see how that goes, the +2 levels from grace should make up for the armour lost and then i would have more unreserved mana to experiment with

Most impactful buy with 17ex would be better jewels or a legacy saffell's.

Imo you should save up for a legacy mjolner as your next big upgrade.
I'd say buy fuses and 6L the King's. That's what I'm trying... wasted about 550 so far.

I'm looking at the videos with the flasks filling like crazy. How much crit do you have ? I just did Atziri again and they fill very slowly. I guess I need more crit but how much ?

You'r flask refil from crits BUT spell crit in most part and that is from -Arcane Potency ,Annihilation - skill tree points and the global crit you have from romira .
if u plann more crit u need spell crit obtainable thru jewel .
To much global crit or normal crit will weeking ur discharge, as wee need discharge to consume PC not Molten Strike .
i youse BaalLightning ( crits more, less dmg aside Arc ) in MJ and flask go up rly good.

Have anyone experimented with getting the full 18% mana reservation available to us on the tree

+ alphas howl

Then running Grace + PoL + PoF + Enlighten lvl 4 in Alphas

This lets us run Arctic Armour in a spare gem slot somewhere, 13/13 phys/fire reduction is huge once your resists are that high already

The aura calculator shows this is possible with another 2% of your mana globe to spare

79% for your auras then 17% for AA

Seems to me like it could be super powerful, and then use gloves like these
to make up for the lost attack speed and resists

The level boost and effectiveness to grace more then makes up for any lost armour, the gloves add more survivability, life, res etc

While you also then have cannot be frozen, make up the lost dex with some on your ring/gloves or 1 jewel

What do you think?

Have been playing around with this build in standard after the 4 week league ended and have been really enjoying the tankiness of version 3!

Have you ever considered dropping grace and running arctic armour instead? While it only applies while you're stationary (which you are when you attack anyway) it also reduces fire damage and chills enemies.

If you have 2 levelled enlighten and a +1 voidbringer you could run all 3 purities in your gloves. If you then pick up influence you would get +7 max resists to all elements.

Especially against high damage hits arctic armour should also be better than pure armour. There's a pretty neat calculator around to play with the different layers of defence: https://jsfiddle.net/p7pe80jx/39/embedded/result/

Tree would look something like this:


Difference to your version 3:
- a lot less armour (!)
- requires 2x level 3 enlighten and a +1 voidbringer
- +1 max fire & cold res and +7 to max cold res (which would net 100% resists with flasks up)
- 13% less physical and fire damage taken due to AA
- You can also pick up doom cast for 100% extra spell crit
- running PoI gives a little more flexibility for the ring, belt & boots (for chaos resist for example).
