That depends on what you mean by the "right" thing, I guess.

If you just mean the legal thing, then no he didn't do the legal thing.

But as many of you should well know by now, the moral thing and the legal thing to do are not always the same.
. sry, deleted everything, because it´s an old threat(lol, just noticed) (Edit:) thread...

No. He didn't do the right thing. At least according to the LAW. The End.

Actually, you may well become an accessory by doing nothing, if the victim comes to harm. Most countries don't have laws that say, "If you see someone being physically abused, you may not interfere." It's not like Fluffy shot the guy.

We live in an era where it's possible for people to get beaten to death in the subway because nobody gives a fuck; because it's "inconvenient", because it doesn't concern us, because it's embarrassing and we can't wait to get home to play video games. Perhaps you're fine with that. Plenty of us are not, and so I applaud Fluffy for having the courage to interfere instead of making excuses why that may not be the most optimal, easiest, least troublesome approach for him personally.

There are situations that one should walk away from. This wasn't one of them.

(Old thread, but it was an interesting read.)
True. western good samaritan laws vs. "shoganai" type philosophy of east asia.

screwed if you do. screwed if you don't.

the only thing to do in that kind of situation is what your conscience tells you is right, because if you're going to get screwed either way, then you may as well get screwed for doing what you believe in.
This kind of crap happens everywhere all the time every day. No wonder people don't even try anymore.
People of the gutters, steel your bellies, for the slaughter is at hand!
