No motivation at all
|
I reached lvl 30 with 2 chars I think, or almost.
33/40 Enounters A few missions And I have no motivation at all to get 80. Everytime I get in the game, I have a "boner" of motivation, like: "Hell yea, I'm so close to complete one achievement, second one should pe piece of cake since I only have to level to 80" But after 10 minutes, I'm like: "God, this is so boring...." and Exit the game. Next day, I watch some streamers to motivate me, got back in game, same story. Act4, please hurry! Edit: Don't get me wrong, I love these 4 challenges, since they are so easy and have nice looking rewards, what ain't easy, is the power to go on actually complete them when you're tired of everything. Act 4 will change virtualy nothing for you, you'll get to the end of act 4 and still face the same problems

" Act4 brings not only content that you can rush and be done with, but content that adds "replayability" [dunno if this is really a word haha] Like, new skill tree, new gems, new items, new mechanics, etc. Of course that after a month of playing through ACT 4, I will get bored, then GGG will announce new patches with new stuff, gems or interesting stuff. Then dont play, nobody forces you. You shouldnt even force yourself, whats the point? Play what you want and whats fun.

" I've looked on your character profile to see if this situation of yours applies only to this race season, but you actually don't have any higher than 30ish chars on this account, so judging from the quoted part, maybe PoE simply isn't the right game for you. PoE starts out slow (you're basicly a washed-up hobo after all) and it takes up to level 50ish and a somewhat decent build to get that "whoa, i'm actually getting powerful" feeling; if you push it to levels 70+ and start mapping or doing dailies with a group, that's where the real fun begins. Basicly, you either have the willpower and patience to push on to levels 50+ or you don't; it's absolutely no shame if you don't, but in that case act 4 won't change anything except maybe add a couple of levels to your chars. Here's a thing i usually do when leveling chars gets boring for me: i stop thinking about the "endgoal" e.g. "reach level 80" but try to focus on short-set tasks like "today i'm gonna finish 5 story quests" or "today i'm gonna reach and beat Merveil/the Vaal Oversoul/etc.". If i find those goals to become boring as well, i either set them even shorter or stop playing for a couple of days to "cool off". Hope this helped a bit :) Last edited by Tom7i#1833 on Apr 4, 2015, 10:55:43 AM

" Profile stalking at it again. Its like sneaking into someones home, you shouldnt do it. |
|

I play PoE since 2012, so that might add up to my problem.
You didn't have to stalk my profile, I already told you I didn't have the motivation to level any char above 30-ish on this 1M League. :D But yea, tried what you said before, didn't work. I started playing melee chars wich I enjoyed till level 30, when I hit Act 3, that forth and back, and unlocking stuff in that sewer, turned me off. No offence GGG, but Act 3 is at least for me the most boring Act. |

" Then rush it, no need to dabble in an act so linear longer than neccesary. Join docks party to get the WP there, get the spool, then off to battlefront and get the meth pot and then do clarissa, look for the crematorium then run to town get the key and go back before the instance expires so you get the sewers fast. This game can be rushed like nothing else, even D3 takes longer. |

" Really, "profile stalking" is a thing on the PoE forum? Judging from the message "This profile has been set to private" when clicking on your name i assume that you are perfectly aware about the option that you can set your profile to "private". To go along with your above analogy, it's like having a lock on the doors of your house but willingly choosing to go about your business with your house unlocked; when you come home, you meet your neighbour who compliments you on your new couch but adds that your wife should really clean her closet more often and you flip your lid about him going in to your home without your knowledge or approval, even though you've knowingly left your house unlocked for anyone to come in. " Like i already explained, I only looked at your profile to see if this applies to the current one-month season or to your general playstyle. Edit: I didn't see any mention of this in your OP tbh, otherwise i wouldn't have done it in the first place. To further clarify: if i'd seen a couple of level 50+ characters in Standard and 2 level 30 characters in the current racing league on your profile, i wouldn't write the explanation about having to reach level 50+ in order for the game to pick up since i'd assume you already knew that and you're just bored and unmotivated in the current racing league. Since i didn't, this left me to assume that you don't have the motivation to bring a character over 30 at all, which led me to write the part about maybe PoE simply not being the right game for you. Btw, like i already wrote to dirk above, there is an option in "privacy settings" on your profile, where you can make your account anonymous so that noone can see such things. Hope that cleared it up :) Last edited by Tom7i#1833 on Apr 4, 2015, 11:57:36 AM

No problem man :D
Nah, I don't have any reason to hide my profile, it's pretty silly to write something based of someone's profile. I might easily have a few accounts with 70+ chars, or I might not. To be honest, I posted this thread because I was bored [nolifeforeveraloneboyz] and ofc because someone else might feel the same, with no motivation. |
