It has no ES so you have to have goodly rolls elsewhere. But yes, another fu** aimed at life based characters...

And I'm asking what the heck with "physical damage"? Why there are no passives/items for melee elemental damage?

despite the armor being insane on the first look, I would imagine it's decent at best...
