The new short bow says 50% less weapon damage...since the only weapon damage you're doing with a bow consists of projectiles, I'd assume it is essentially a 50% projectile damage reduction, meaning Elemental Hit isn't going to be as potent as you guys are thinking. At least, that's the way I read it - correct me if I'm wrong!
Explosive Arrow on the other hand... >:) Also could be very good on Blood Magic marauders using their bow for life gain on hit (lighting arrow + greater multiple + life gain + pierce). you could also poison arrow with culling strike. life gain on hit only works on the literal hit, not the explosion btw. the reason elemental hit, is because that'll keep scaling while your physical barely does.

It's not 50% Reduced Damage. It's 50% Less Damage. That's multiplicative. Every single Attack skill will do 50% less, all bonus damage from gear and passives will do 50% less.
The Poison Arrow DoT clouds and Explosive Arrow AoE, however, would not be reduced. | |

Ewww I'm not liking Brightbeak. At the least it could have been given all resistances I instead of just 2.
I hope it gets buffed. there's at least a good 5-7 uniques that I think are real trash. Fresh cakes for all occasions.

" Not all of the uniques can be 'awesome'. That is not their purpose, as I'm sure you're well aware. Some will be rarer than others; some will enable builds, some just do funny things. The rate at which GGG needs to fill that unique roster is going to result in some relatively 'mediocre' uniques. Diamond uniques still should be the 'standout' uniques overall, as well. They're where the really crazy, outlandish ideas come into play. Finally, rares are still supposed to be the most powerful items. That was GGG's stance then, it's their stance now. Unique items have no onus to be 'powerful'; they simply do things rares can't. I challenge you to name any ARPG where all the uniques were as awesome as each other, or even an ARPG that didn't have some 'trash' uniques. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
