[1.3] 7D's Glacial Cascade Build Guide [Crit; Perma freeze; Vaal Pact; Easy Atziri] 67k*4 DPS

Welcome to my first ever Build Guide!

i am currently working on an update for this build, i deal more dmg after the patch and have curently 300hp less and 800es more

You are probably asking yourself:
"Whats so special about this Glacial Cascade build?"
Well that's my Curse on Hit setup.->Herald of Ice+Curse on Hit+Assassin's Mark+Reduced Mana
"Isn't Herald of Thunder better?"
No, not with this build.
This build Requires 2 Divinariuses and a Carcass Jack and
Templer+Witch "Increased Radus of Area Skills" Skill Tree points
With this your Herald of Ice gains +80% Area of Effect.
Huge Herald of Ice(curse on Hit Setup)

Thanks to that, your Herald of Ice basically explodes and will always curse the entire pack.
Which leads to: u will always have 7 Power Charges up

So i'm currently at lvl 93 and here is my DPS(second version->skill tree has a little bit higher tooltip DPS)
Base gear DPS

Damage without anything

Damage with 7 Power Charges

Damage 7PC + Flasks

Damage Fully buffed

Why 67*4 then?
Simply: Glacial usually hits +-4x per wave.(4 casts per sec = 16 hits per sec)
The damage is even higher if you count the Shocks (+50%dmg)
Damage with 21/20Glacial Cascade

Damage without anything

Damage with 7 Power Charges

Damage 7PC + Flasks

Damage Fully buffed

Damage with 21/20GC+ 2x Void Battery

Damage without anything

Damage with 9 Power Charges

Damage 7PC + Flasks

Damage Fully buffed

Defenses

I know, my Resistances are just slightly caped
but i get Fire dmg reduction from Arctic Armor
and more Cold res from Taste of Hate

i rly love having high Movement Speed,
so i don't have to rely on Movement Skills, which could cause Desyncs

and my freezing everything, is a good defense mechanism to.
also Vaal Pact is probably the biggest life saver.
V1

V2

V2 + Rare helmet

Gear & Link Setup

For this Build you need a 5Link carcass jack, a 6 link is not required!
(you would gain 6k dps tho(Added Cold Damage))
5link Setup-> Glacial Cascade, Life Leech, Concentrated Effect, Spell echo, Faster Casting
faster casting gives more dmg then Added cold, and makes you less vulnerable
since Spell echo locks you in place for a short time, faster casting helps out a lot.

you also need 2 Divinariuses!(main reason: Increased Area of Effect)

You want to get Dex on your gear so you can use Haste/vaal Haste.
You also want as mutch Life as Posible on your gear. since Alpha's giving you no hp.
On Rings, you wan't mana regen! so you can run a higher level Arctic Armor
Alpha's is awesome in many aspects.
Lower budged would be: a purtiy instead of Haste.(a rare helmet instead of Alpha's.)
example

a Purity of X makes it easier to cap specific resistances
also the helmet will provide more then just cold res
but also life, other res and maybe even dex.

For gloves i would recommend a armor or a hybirt armor base,
so you can get your 4x red, cast when damage taken setup.
You could use Maligaro's Virtuosity to.
but i would recommend using it in combination with a rare helmet!
As for Amulet, i would recommend as similar to mine, it will improve your dmg by a lot.

Flask Setup

I was thinking about switching out the Seething Divine Life Flask of Staunching
with a Ruby or Jade Flask(with remove bleeding) since the recent patch
changed Flask Suffix: "Remove Bleeding" to "Immunity to Bleeding during Flask Effect"
so Seething is not as good of a Decision as a 4.2Sec Ruby/Jade.
So i'll prob change that soon
Taste of Hate is NOT required in this build, if u have one use it,
its nice but if you don't have one, then don't bother about it.

Passive Skill Tree

Bandits: You can do Oak, Alira, Alira
or Oak, Skillpoint, Alira
its up to you, how u feel about it. I've chosen -Oak, Skillpoint, Alira

Leveling Trees

Level 20:
LeveL 24: Reverberation Rod, would be a good weapon and cheap weapon for leveling

Level 40:

Level 50: rush to vaal packt. -> Glacial Cascade+Faster casting+Spell echo+Life leech
If you use everberation Rod, just drop the spell echo in the setup above

Level 66: get a 5Link Carcass jack and 2 Divinariuses
(get 1 more Dex note in Skill tree if u dont have gear with dex)

Level 80+:get mana regen in Skill Tree as your priority! to get more Defenses(Arctic Armor)
Level 80+(V1)

Level 80+(V2)

If you Level higher, just chose what you need. u'll know what u'll need by them im sure.
I would chose Life i gues

possible changes

Well that's for my Glacial Cascade Build Guide,
feel free to discuss it with me ingame, in the Comments below or on my Stream.

i'll add more videos and stuff later!

Awesome guide man. I have seen this build in action and I have to say that some of the hardest content in the game became a joke. :)

Good job!

Hello, thanks for the guide, it looks awesome
Trying to up a Templar right now ^^

What about the bandits ? Oak,Kill,Alira ? Or you have a specific setup ?
ah right yeah its oak-Kill/alira(up to you)-Alira
Any chance you could add 20-40-60-80-100-120 passive tree for leveling?
Sure i'll add it right away
Great job on the guide man , that build is lookin crazy ! but yea throw out some vids for the sake of the HOI and HOT argument !

Loving it !
Nice build. This should be almost identical (or even slightly better) with a witch start, correct? Basically 58% spell damage for witch vs the 26% elemental damage, 12% cast speed, and 10 energy shield for shadow.

The reason I think witch might be slightly better is the spell damage will also affect the physical portion of GC, where as the shadow's ele damage will not.
it might be better, right. But i personally prefer the 12% cast speed notes.
why? simply because i want to cast as fast as possible,
so i'm not locked on place (spell echo) for a too long time. so i can reposition myself.

Nice build!
Got a question here. Is 64K*4 DPS means GC does 4 times of tooltip DPS?
