For Windrip - I would level somewhat like this, if you're planning to start Scion:

1. https://poebuilder.com/character/AAAAAgAAbj0DljsogwlgQ_Gzb54Wvw-rUzWbtcM6ykph4iaVy73mgYhb

Level with 2H Groundslam/Static/Leapslam early. Grab a bunch of attack speed nodes because slow 2H speed is a pain to play with. Grab a few of the life/mana gained on kill nodes - really good for minimizing need for flasks while leveling.

2. https://poebuilder.com/character/AAAAAgAAbj0DljsogwlgQ_Gzb54Wvw-rUzWbtcM6ykph4iaVy73mgYhbMZ411kUK9Ma-vP4K8kU64aZX2L3kUWebrj534zwtxq63Pu8OUEdfPxQg8i8aPjkOCZaXeYY7NI5r2a9sTP9o8qIA8B8=

Use Geofri's Baptism at 27, aim tree at something like this. Some life and damage going up to Templar and down to Marauder. Life regen and res makes for nice QOL while leveling.

3. https://poebuilder.com/character/AAAAAgAAbj0DljsogwlgQ2-eFr8Pq1M1m7XDOspKYeImlcu95oExnjXWRQr0xr68_gryRTrhplfYveRRZ5uuPnfjPC3Grrc-7w5QR18_FCDyLxo-l3mGOzSOa9mvbEz_aPKiAPAfwGYEs-98n988BYKbmjsaOJBVJy_sOItPKCrtQbGztUimfw==

When you swap to 1H, brief respec. High PDPS 1h mace by this point.

4. https://poebuilder.com/character/AAAAAgAAbj0DljsogwlgQ2-eFr8Pq1M1m7XDOspKMZ411kUK9Ma-vP4K8kU64aZX2L3kUWebrj534zwtxq63Pu8OUEeXeYY7NI5r2a9sTP9o8qIA8B_AZgSz73yf3zwFgpuaOxo4kFUnL-w4i08oKu1BsbO1SKZ_mG_cI5J99zJyqcT25c_sy0_zE8xp_uQiKU9wUioL8-p3B4cTnKRh4iaVjDZVSw==

Scale your crit up in one burst around when you get Abyssus. Should be using a crit sceptre by this point.

After that it fills in pretty cleanly into the final tree.

Rough around level 50. Cruel Dom blows. Aside from that lull it's pretty easy leveling throughout.

Think I'm winding down on this char. Probably going to stop it at 90. Can't really think of any more significant changes I can make, nor gear upgrades that don't cost exalt upon exalt.
whats your conclusions then?

Still making a few changes actually.

Completely dropped Glacial Hammer, added double Vaal Haste - Increased Duration instead. Groundslam does such overwhelming DPS at this point that it's actually killing bosses more quickly than Glacial, so yeah.

Experimented a bit with Vaal Groundslam, and it was actually quite nice, but similar conclusion as with Glacial. In the time it takes me to go "Oh, it'd be a cool time to use VGS," jump in, and use it, Groundslam itself would have already done the job and moved on already.

These are relatively minor changes, though.

General conclusions:

1. As far as I know, quickest clear-speed as a melee in the game right now, with the exception of an endgame flicker strike.

2. A well-rolled Doryani's is, almost without a doubt, going to be your end-game weapon if you're looking to maximize DPS. Nonetheless, in the very endgame a well-rolled rare sceptre is preferable if you can get your hands on one, due to Doryani's low base crit. Doryani's is fine, though. High damage and free proliferation for HOA.

3. There are several viable offhand options for this build. Ungil's Gauche, Prismatic Eclipse, a rare Kris, and Soul Taker are the main considerations. While leveling - Gauche into Eclipse. Endgame I would choose either a rare Kris (80% implicit global crit, rolled with crit multi and leech), Prismatic Eclipse, or Soul Taker. On a 6L, Soul Taker is recommended, as Groundslam is relatively mana-hungry, and the mana multipliers on our chosen support gems are not friendly.

4. Pack reflect is completely manageable if you pop your flasks preemptively, and map reflect is completely manageable by swapping Life Leech in. Nonetheless, elemental reflect is a very real threat for this build. If you slam into a sizeable elemental reflect pack without flasking, you will die.

5. I would not run this build in hardcore without modifications. I would prioritize life leech much higher than crit on jewelry, and drop some damage (not crit) for life and defense. Provided you do this, this build is fine for hardcore. That being said, this is not a tank build. You do not want to leap into the middle of a Vaal Fallen pack. You will get stunned and die. Play it more like a high damage Spectral Throw.

6. This is a crit build. I would not run it with zero currency. That being said, this is not a 100 exalt low-life build. I would estimate 5-6 exalts is enough to get it into a reasonably powerful state in an SC league - Doryani's Catalyst, Abyssus, and a 5L Lightning Coil. This was my setup until the very end of my build, when I picked up a Soul Taker and a 6L Lightning Coil.

7. Atziri is doable. I've run Atziri several times now deathless, without an Immortal Call setup for the Trio or POF/POL for Atziri, because I couldn't be bothered. That being said, this is not a build I would create solely for the purpose of killing Atziri - there are many builds infinitely superior for that. As a corollary, this is not the build I would make if you want to tackle the utmost hardest content in the game. It isn't completely ranged, and it isn't very beefy. If you want to run a Vaal Temple with minmax, vuln, and double reflect, please don't use this build. If you want to run reasonably tough 77s/78s, this is fine. If you want to crush decently-rolled 77s/78s stupidly fast, this is a good build for it.

8. Whether you want a single-target or not is up to you. I think it's nice while leveling, but becomes more and more marginal as your Groundslam scales up. Even on Atziri, I tend to simply swap Conc Effect into my Groundslam rather than use a separate single target skill.

9. I don't know if the way I built this is the most optimal. It may very well not be - it's just what I began as and settled on. I would not take my skill tree as the end-all-be-all for this build in 1.3. That being said, this has gone through numerous revisions, and is likely not too far off of the ideal.

Was about to reinstall, then I saw this.

See you in 1.4.

Yeah. xD Build feels done, no motivation to grind past level 90, and no other builds I want to try too badly.

About 60%. Quite low due to Doryani's. If I had an 8.5%+ crit rare sceptre instead, I'd probably spec further into crit to reach 85-95% crit, but it wasn't quite worth extending further for crit while using Doryani's.
