In-game Voice Chat Functionality.

I'd like to give this topic its proper venue for consideration, and was wondering if Chris wouldn't mind hosting a poll of whether people would embrace a voice chat system being implemented into PoE at some point. Better yet, let us know whether this is even within the scope of consideration for GGG to implement.

I've gone into detail on my thoughts it here on page 9: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/391/page/9#p21272

However, it's somewhat of a separate topic from the regular chat channel discussion and that thread already has so much clutter so I thought I'd post this as a suggestion.

One person did oppose it because they thought people would stray away or use a third party program, such as Ventrillo or TeamSpeak. To that I'd say it'd be an optional alternative to typed chat. I also think clans and friends would kindly welcome an official voice chat if it were properly tested and functioned well.

Any thoughts or concerns on the matter? Please, feel free to share yours.

I would love an in-game voice chat; this is something they should think about for post release though.

If they can find the time to implement it, then more power to them!
Happy Days Abound.
Yeh i think it's a nice idea.
They could implent it later then Playing with others would be more fun ^^

I think only a very solo player would be against this... that being said, add it, it wouldn't matter if it were an option, way better to have it than to wish it existed...
I love virtual brutality so save it for the Mobs...
It would be good but would GGG be able to cope with the potential server strains? I'm less a techie and more a gamer, is it actually financially feasible?

Personally I always just use Skype in the background with my brother whenever I play co-op because it's pretty simple to do. While a nicety indeed this feature isn't really a necessity, though I would hardly push it away if it were offered in a post release patch at some stage.
Why not just use skype in the background? or steam? :P

Skype or Teamspeak, Steam voicechat is not that good (even with the new codecs). And an ingame voice chat? Don't really like that.
My little tribute to Diablo 1 aka why Diablo 3 is the worst part of the series.

Well, I have mixed feeling about that idea, maybe we should make a poll or something. I'm not against it, but as other people have already said, I prefer using skype or some other program for my needs. Also, I would like if they implement a real time chat room on the forums so we can speak freely and discuss various things without having to wait 1+2+3+ minutes for an answer.
In all games I always play as a warrior, guess it's in my blood or something. For all the lonely warriors out there, unite under my banner! Let us dominate over the other classes! To arms!
I'm for voice chat. Though I would like to be able to control the volume of individual players, some people shout louder then others, and having more options then just mute would be nice.
i guess an in game voicechat would produce more problems than it solves.

even if it would find a way into the game, it would just be a tiny additional feature.
so chances are high that it won't work as fluently as ventrilo/ts do.
would you use it then?
i guess not.
was it worth the additional code and testing?
