A summary of Time based events:

Timed based events are new type of event introduced in Race Season 9, they are designed to create a new kind of competitive environment where players compete not by character experience, but by their capabilities to progress through the game and complete specific objectives, such as killing bosses.

The boss required to be defeated for this race is: Merveil, located in The Cavern of Anger.

  • The time recorded is based from the beginning of the race, not when your character is created.
  • Characters will not appear on the ladder until they have completed the objective.
  • Characters are not required to have completed the time based objective in order to receive points for the other objectives, such as points awarded for reaching certain levels.
  • Characters who die after completing the objective, will still be counted for receiving reward points except for the level-specific prizes.
  • Points are awarded at the end of the race, do not delete your characters until they have been moved to the permanent leagues.

BLAMT!
This looks like a nice, casual friendly race. Good point reward tiers, quick, not a huge time waste if you die (unlike the Piety one). Wish there were a lot more of them.

I liked the Piety one, but I died thinking I had 10 minutes left when I really had 1 hour 10 minutes left.

But I agree that it also was a big time sink, the only reason I did it was that it had a comfortable timing for me. I had nothing to do that day so I could easily participate.

I miss Decent though, 40 minute races was so perfect, you didn't need to arrange your schedule around it.
I also miss the decent races, those were my favorite.

Does anyone know for these races, that once you complete the objective (in this case kill merv) does the race end for you? or do you continue on to act 2 and get more levels for more points?

The game continues and you're free to keep levelling up.

It was annoying in the Piety one because I was already at max points when I killed her and since it ranks on time and not experience I ended up just leaving for an hour and a half. This time it'll be nicer because I usually kill merveil at around level 12 so there's a point to continue playing.
the desynch is fkn retarded.... seriously... couldnt do shit on merveil and the split second i kill her, i die...
