It sounds like you are playing this game thinking it is a race to see who can accumulate the most wealth, it's not a race.
Yes, that is why I play pretty much only solo/self-found. Because of all the wealth that I accumulate that way! And because I have all these tabs full of exalted orbs, I'm very concerned about needing to spend two of them for this mod. I didn't know I was so easy to figure out.

what about an artificial upper limit?
As 1 fuse will never be traded for more than 4 jewellers because that's the vendor price, making vendors sell exalted orbs for 40 chaos (+-) could be a solution?
I suggested same. There has to be a cap on exalt : chaos ratio, or a proper way of farming for exalts (like a recipe).

And my two cents: I like the lower currencies. Because they are farmable. So you can achieve a litte bit of wealth by actually playing the game. Of course I could trade my Jewellers, Chroms, Fusings, Chaos etc. for Exalteds. But seriously, trading 45 Chaos for 1 Ex simply feels like being ripped off. Which leads to my second point:

Even without such changes, your success in a league heavily depends on when you are able to put much time into the game. If you play all day long in the first one or two weeks, rush the game and be one of the first to
-farm merc piety/dom
-farm higher level maps
-farm Atziri
-farm uber Atziri,
then you can farm chaos en masse and trade them for Ex while the rates are still low. You can sell your drops for a higher price, since there is still not much supply. Start at a later point and you will have a serious disadvantage. Introducing a vendor recipe for Exalteds could be a solution to this as it would help to stabilize the market over the whole league.

I dislike the change to 2 exhalts although I wasn't happy with 1 divine either. The solution of it costing chaos instead of exhalts is one way to go and should be discussed however:

Please note that this is just wrong.
When making a point, you take away your validity everytime you use sweeping statements that lots and lots of people will disagree with. You most certainly don't have proof or reference.
Stick to your point and don't make stuff up!

Well they sure as hell won't do it now. They advertised it as costing 2 exalted, now if they change it to say 50,70,100 / 2 and there is the "official" ratio of exalted to chaos. This would set in stone the one greatly fluctuating price within currency.

Meh, the "affordability for solo players" argument is a little silly considering that anyone with enough time to get a level 8 elreon surely must be able to muster up 2ex for a 300+ pdps weapon. I mean that's still incredibly cheap for what you're getting. For strict SF players, well it's common knowledge that divines are more rare than exalts. Finding 2 exalts isn't much more unlikely than finding one divine, and surely you'll have found either by the time you've allegedly reached a level 8 elreon solo/SF.
I'm more bummed that they're doing away with the divine sink that we desperately needed, would have preferred that they made it cost 3 divines or something.

Same here. If anything all the crafting mods that cost ex should be changed to divines. If the prices are too cheap than increase the quantity of divines needed.

Apologies for the click bait title, and I'd like to say this obviously isn't my original thought for a solution, I'd just really like to echo it.
Currently exalts are 38-40c on Beyond and divines are expected to reach 25c~ before Monday. Both have constantly been on the rise since the very beginning of the league, and with upcoming changes divines will crash while exalts will continue to sky rocket. This is absolutely insane.
By making the elreon master craft cost 2 exalts GGG is going to drive up the price even further creating a bigger gap betweeen the "normal" player from the wealthy elite. Most players won't even be able to gather the 50 chaos that exalts will inevitably go to and those with tons of exalts already will be mind-numbingly rich.
The reason? There is currently no sink for chaos like there should be alongside its common drop rate. People aren't using them aside from a trading token or possibly rerolling carographer boxes/maps. The chance of getting a good item from chaosing it is just too low--people are using alterations + crafting or plain old drops for gear. The solution?
Please make eleron master craft 55-65 chaos, not 2 ex. It would add some much needed stabilization to the current economy via an actual large and reasonable sink for chaos. We have until Monday to fix this, please GGG. We can prevent what will be the worst economy in the history of PoE.

As far as i know, i bought Divine for 16 chaos yesterday in Rampage. Pplayers dont lose their stuff in Rampage, so divined dont skyrocket. Elreon spends just ONE divine per craft, after all, while players spend 10x more to get good rolls on high-end uniques/rares.
Maybe, 1 divine wasnt really an adequate price. Divines are still VERY rare (as well as Exalteds), so i believe, crafted mods should cost "more affordable" sort of currency. A good example of WELL-desighned crafting is Vorici - he takes Chromatics, Jewellers and Fusings, all of them you can easily farm. Sure, he requires big QUANTITY of those, but at least, it isnt all about luck.
Same should be with Elreon and others. Highest-grade mods should cost chaos, alchemy and regal orbs, not exalteds/divines.

There is is, ladies and gentlemen. With regal orbs being pain in ass (impossible) to farm before getting into high level maps, making the high-grade mods cost (high quantities of?) regals is only logical. Would also boost the suitability of regals for trading.

This mod was way too cheap and 2 exalts is a very reasonable price for such a strong mod. You'll still get a very good endgame item for 1/10 of the price that they had before, seems fair enough.
That said, it'd be nice to be able to actually save up for exalted orbs in some way as a solo player, even if the game's balanced around trading.
So I take it you got to abuse the living shit out of this crafting mod?
Anyone who agrees with the changes, already got their share of the cake, that's really it, ignore them.
We needed a CHAOS SINK, finding an Exalt is not easy because they are so fucking RNG and rare as fuck.
GGG shot themself in the foot this time, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people would quit slowly 1 by 1 now really.
