How do you value items? [NEW PLAYER]
" "Leveling Uniques" are often lost to softcore. They are dirst cheap on SC but expensive (2-5 chaos) on HC. Somoene mentioned 2 days to lev 80. If I assume thats 12h play time, can you do that on HC? You can't just 'learn' how to price items, because it comes from experience. Play enough, and you will start to know what certain items, mods etc are worth.

When marketing an item for trade, you have to ask "Would someone be able to find a comparable item themselves without much effort?"
Your items don't pass this test. There's nothing there that I wouldn't expect to find on a regular play through of the story line. Hence, there is no demand for your items. If you want to sell items to people who are building up characters, you have to provide something they can't just find for themselves. |

I should have looked at the items and read the post instead of the thread title, my bad. Items are vendor food and if you didnt do maps nor merc there really isnt much more to say.

" It is much faster for a person to get 2 chaos worth of currency (1 alch + 8 alts lets say) then it is for someone to find a 4L item with life and resist that they can use at low 30's when they can link the lev31 skills. There are many people selling these items but when I try to buy them, I am asked 3-5 chaos for a rare 4L level 35. When I try to sell for half of that price, people say I'm crazy. Similar items. 3L or 4L with 40+ life, resists and usable on low levels (people want to start linking their stuff as soon as possible). Half of the HC chars don't make it to 40. " What you're not taking into account is that the same player who farms that 2 chaos worth of currency, would in all likelihood, find items comparable to yours. They could use that alch you mention to transform a white 4L that they found themselves. They don't want your items and you'll never force them to buy them. Even really nice leveling items have an extremely limited market. Players who want to level quickly have already had time to build a stash of them. There's just very little demand for what you want to sell. |
