It's almost as though new players in standard don't exist

Ah... now THAT is the thing.
The first two posters are Standard players.... where item availability is ever growing.
I play hardcore. I JUST play hardcore.
Different ballgame altogether.

Can I get some opinion from a HC player? Someone with 2+ characters on level 70+ please?
Answers from Standard-only players are as worth as players of lets say... Call of Duty. totally unrelated to the HC reality.

You want a high life roll and high resistances, anything else with those rolls is a bonus.
You won't be on hardcore for long if you think that those vendor trash items have ANY use.

"Substandard items" - this is what I don't understand.

When you (experienced old player) start a new toon on a different build that you don't have the leveling gear for, what do you do?
Use whatever drops until you get to a specific point like merciless or whatever point/level?
I need to understand what items should I keep for both myself and the market.
I buy leveling items (cheaper than crafting them myself) and I thought others did the same.

Am I wrong?

You need to understand that POE has existed for so long that experienced players like most of us here can reach level 80 in just 2 days.

Why would anyone pay a few alchemy just for levelling gear that we would use for only 2 days?

Even if we are talking about new players, they would not have so many alchemy to buy your gears at the price you state anyway. Even if anyone should buy them, 1 alchemy each is considered a graceful act for both buyer and seller.

The reason most of us vendor levelling items is because the time spent searching for a new player who might spend 1 alchemy to buy them is already enough for us to farm 10 alchemy. That is how fast we can farm.
I agree with the majority here. These items are so unspectacular that anybody has something similar. With time people also accumulate levelling/ twink gear, no need to trade for what you offer.

Something that might be of value to players, if it is not a typical levelling unique might be something with high life rolls for the level (around 30 for level 40 or so - I might be off here) and at least 2 resists around 20%.
Physcal damage on weapons isn't such a big thing, since you can get decent rolls from the vendor recipe.

Well he's asking opinions from hard core only players. I don't think there is much sense in advising him as we play in scrub score :x. He should have stated in his thread.
How much i need it. Simple as that.

Then he needs to realize that in hardcore players are even more unwilling to pay high prices for levelling items. (Do not tell him there is something called 'levelling uniques')
The values you make up for those items are hilarious.

That blue mask for two alchs and something? You can make two random rare masks with that currency, almost guaranteeing a MUCH better item than what you have to offer.

Basically, when looking for sellable items you are looking for 4 useful rolls. Ie. Life and 3 resists, life and armor and two resists, life flat armor armor % and a resistance.

It doesnt matter if the item has 4 or 6 rolls. If an item doesnt have 4 useful rolls, its vendor trash. And that will only sell for a chaos, if you dont have top tier (tier 1-3)
rolls.
Noone buys anything but the famous leveling uniques for low levels.
