How is the end game in PoE?

Much better :)

But you can't bash new ideas, based on the suspicion that GGG will not implement it well?

Btw, that endless dungeon thingy could actually be an endgame map.

An endless dungeon being a map, would limit it in so many ways...
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
I'm a casual player (if you can call 900 hrs in standard casual) and I have a couple of characters over lvl 80.

I thoroughly enjoy the end-game mapping system, the variety in it is very cool. I have hit a bit of an RNG wall though; as the end game maps are an RNG pyramid you have to play A LOT of low level maps to be able to play high level maps, which can get a bit tedious.

Somehow though this has not in any way affected my addiction to this game, as I find myself creating new characters, farming bosses, dabbling in the economy. Hoe you play it and enjoy it!

What makes "maps" fun for you?

The combat challenge?
The gambling aspect?

The variety. Many different maps with many different mods. Depending on your build and gear status and map difficulty it's a very varied experience.

Okay, but doesn't it stop feeling varied when you are strong enough to faceroll any lv78 map with any mod?

That's one of my big issues with the current map system: PoE is not designed to feel varied and challenging when you have made a super-character in a permanent league, unlike D3 RoS greater Rifts. I am talking about builds that are worth at least a total of 2 mirrors.

Temporary leagues are the strength of GGG, and while the endgame of the permanent league "Standard" is nice for a long time, it eventually falls short when you have a strong enough build.

RNG can screw you, regardless of gear. There will be times you will die, even with multitudes of exalts spent on gear.

Also, if you think RoS has better endgame content, head over to the blizzard forums and scroll through it, not a lot of happy puppies there.

I'm 'bashing' the idea only if it's meant to be a better replacement for the current endgame system, which I think it can't be.

How? It would only limit it in availability, which I think is a good thing. It's easy to make cheesy builds, I don't think you can limit availability only by difficulty. I mean you can but then everyone would reach level 100 in no time.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

I'm a casual scrub so I've never reached that point. Of course everything gets old after a while, but I don't know about an alternative to this. How are these Greater Rifts? Are they already playable on PTR? Maybe I should check it out.

Yes, Greater Rifts are playable on the PTR. The keys to access them only drop from guardians in regular Rifts and the dropchance is higher on higher torment difficulty.

The Greater Rifts themselves are timed challenges where the goal is to kill, move and survive fast enough to summon the boss and kill the boss before time runs out, to unlock next level of the greater rift. (I.e. one starts with a low level greater rift key, and if you successfully beat the stage, the key gets upgraded to a higher key)

Only the boss drops loot, so the focus is really on dps, traveling speed and survivability.

Higher Greater Rift levels have monsters with higher stats.

Edit:
Greater Rifts solves the problem of "I got goooodly gear and faceroll content, yawn" for me and can be used as a great balancing tool as well as foster competition.

This sounds like a fun iteration of the endless dungeon thing. Would like to see it in PoE as an option besides meeps.
