How is the end game in PoE?

Uh huh. Complain about no answers, then kill an answer immediately. There's your answer for why nobody provides an answer! ;)

As for myself, I don't mind the mapping, but would like a non-RNG alternative besides boss farming. Something more random and considerably harder, but actually reachable, would be quite pleasurable.

Endgame is regardless better than most games out there, though.

Well you can't blame me for expecting something better than the current map system when someone complains about the map system :P

Well said.

But, I'm biased, so I'll heartily disagree. :P

Ultimate dungeon doesn't need to be "dungeon," either. Can be a random map with random mods at a higher level. Map tileset and mods change on each floor.

But, this is derailing the main topic, and is stuff for the "suggestions" or "feedback" forum.

To the OP: end game is good enough and you'll definitely lose yourself in it if you're a fan of grinding your heart out, your health away, and your marriage into divorce.

The variety. Many different maps with many different mods. Depending on your build and gear status and map difficulty it's a very varied experience.

So why bash ideas then? If more is better?

Because it ain't better than the currend endgame. And more isn't always better, it really depends on how GGG implements it.

It just depends on what you want to do or work towards.

If you're looking to gear up a single character to see and take on all the content, you'll probably work towards maps.

If you just like killing stuff for loot, boss runs will probably suit you.

If you like playing alts, PoE offers a lot of variety there.

If you're not against trading, its worth doing a little bit. For some people this is endgame!

There are a lot of significant differences between PoE and D3 - so try not to have the same expectations! Just go in with an open mind and hopefully you'll find it rewarding. Have fun!

Damn good answer.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Your opinion. I think more options = more choices = more players = better solution.

Hard to debate something with people that's not agreeing with themselves.

Okay, but doesn't it stop feeling varied when you are strong enough to faceroll any lv78 map with any mod?

That's one of my big issues with the current map system: PoE is not designed to feel varied and challenging when you have made a super-character in a permanent league, unlike D3 RoS greater Rifts. I am talking about builds that are worth at least a total of 2 mirrors.

Temporary leagues are the strength of GGG, and while the endgame of the permanent league "Standard" is nice for a long time, it eventually falls short when you have a strong enough build.

Then let me rephrase, 'the more well implemented options, the better'. Better? :P Btw, that endless dungeon thingy could actually be an endgame map.

I'm a casual scrub so I've never reached that point. Of course everything gets old after a while, but I don't know about an alternative to this. How are these Greater Rifts? Are they already playable on PTR? Maybe I should check it out.
