Regarding Spellcasting, attacking, and "more" modifiers...

I have learned that while large quantities of cake please the mouth, they are horrible for me once swallowed.

That's... not really a good example. Nor is it even remotely what I'm talking about. That helm could just as easily be used by a summoner, a glacial hammer user, or, like, basically anyone.

The point is that it's not that hard to get good caster gear. Caster doesn't benefit as much from good gear as attacker. To level up you can use blue wands with high spell damage rolls. And in maps it shouldn't be hard to find a scepter or wand with a high spell damage roll and maybe some cast speed. That will pretty much do it. And as an attack based build, you can get buffs from gloves, rings, even a helmet.

again wrong, in which way this helm would benefit glacial hammer users? and if you dint relized it yet, in poe you can use everthing as every class, there is not such thing as caster gear, you can use what supports you palystyle, an if you cant get good gear as a caster your bad at trading

as Caster you get buff from rings(cast speed and elemental damage) too, and as caster you can get Cast speed at amuletts, and spell dmage, itf balanced stop talking shit, if you want to see a bad build/playstyle in poe you should try out a 2 Handed Melee build

That look very attacky to you? It took an absurd amount of time for that kind of wand to drop for me, as opposed to all the very nice (and relatively common) attacker weapons I have.

[Removed by Support] The focus here is that-- all else being equal-- casters are punished simply for being casters, whereas attackers are not.

A lot of spells operate a lot different than attacks, like Ball Lightning, Flameblast, Glacial Cascade, etc.

Not to mention most of the spells are of single element where as reaching lets say 20k of pure lightning dps on a attack character is a bit trickier.

Spells never miss and can go crit so there is that "more multiplier" there also.
Some spells also have a nice base cast speed compared to most weapons.

What i feel would be better is if the whole Lightning/Fire/Cold penetration was shifted towards a self buff (not aura!) which reserves mana like Tempest Shield.
Or maybe a %more spell elemental damage aura/buff similar how we have a spell elemental damage passive in the witch tree.

So far casters usually need to run only 2-3 auras really: Clarity/Purity of X/Discipline or if EB swapping in Discipline for something else.
Giving more choice compared to attackers via self buffs or auras would be better than a flat out %more damage gem seeing as how casters need the links for some spells badly.
