Diablo 3 is dead - Blizzard confirmed

There was a D3 RoS livestream Dev Q&A today on gamespot twitch account, less than 1k viewers.

I'd say pretty dead.
All's well in the world.

Anyway to me D3 has been dead for a while, actually here's a picture representing how it went:

"How did they make any money with this."

One day I'll be able to free those gigabytes for pr0n. One day I hope to be that strong.

millions players playing =/= good game.

Rihanna sells millions of albums, that doesn't change the fact it's shit. And that a lot of indie bands are great.

You willingly distort the meaning of "fact". I find
"Eminem - The Monster (Explicit) ft. Rihanna" to be pretty enjoyable and "Rihanna - Don't Stop The Music" is rather nice to dance to.

Popularity is just popularity, it says little about whether or not something is good or bad.

Yes, because we all know that the most important part of an Action Role-playing Game is the visuals and sound.

This is completely unrelated to this thread but I just wanted to chime in to say that I think sound is often an extremely underrated aspect of game development. Solid sound assets can really make everything you do in the game that much more satisfying. Sounds need to have oomph and feel like they have some actual impact behind them. It adds a lot, at least to me.
This goes for animations also. I want to feel like I am striking actual physical beings, not walking hitboxes. The right mix of animation/aesthetic/sounds can make this happen. It helps the game feel that much better.

Since when did gamers engage themselves in sales and finances of the company..you're a player or consumer at best. If you want to concern yourself with those things then go get a job which makes you're efforts relevant. Other then that stick to playing games kiddo

D3 served its purpose. It was its failure at launch that lead me to PoE, and I've never looked back. Even got a refund for D3.

Recent Q2 2014 earnings call confirmed what the PoE fans have been saying for almost 2 years.

"There have been over 20 million copies of Diablo III sold, counting both the base game and Reaper of Souls."

"Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, top-selling PC game of 2014, YTD"

Its only an increase of +6 Million copies since the last Quarter.

Diablo 3 is oficially dead. No-one buys copies anymore let alone play the game.

The only ones playing D3 are bots to farm gold and items to sell on 3th party websites even now that items are account-bound.

On the other hand the magnificence of PoE has no boundaries. According to SteamCharts a whooping average of 4k players play the game concurrently on a daily basis.
And on a economy driven game which is also free-to-play ..such things as bot accounts do not exist. All the PoE players that are counted on the charts are genuine unique players.

A huge overcomplicated passive tree is what determines the sucess of an ARPG experience.

PoE is the best game ever.

For a game to be dead there needs to be nobody playing it.I'm playing it,therefore .... not dead yet.

Funny thing is...

I actually went to see the D3 forums after and...

Most popular thread on EU was "This game is dying..." and it has 3 pages of replies in 18 hours and on US some complaint about gems and it's 6 days old and has 7 pages.

With all those millions of copies sold.

Now here, some dude makes a random troll thread and gets 10 pages in 20 hours.

Didn't this one naysayer just state that forum (in)activity implies for a dead game?
