Is Cleave still useless?

I should have specified, these weapons are "bad" for end game maps(300 and 270dps) . They are fine for everything below. I had about 12k dps with cleave with a 4link. 300 dps one hand swords can drop for merciless merveil.

I have never dropped a 300+ physical one hand weapon and i played a lot (and i mean a lot :P).

If it can drop doesn't mean it will drop.

Also as pointed out cleave is kinda bad considering you can go Reave and outperform it in all ways.

Hmmm, i have level73 Scion waiting for that free re-spec...
Cleave with these?

I just made a dual wield phys cleaver in dumpster HC a month or two ago and it performed great. Zipped through a few mid 70 maps but DPS was low for party play.

I really want to make a decent cleaver

In invasion I had a self found 2h axe cleaver. Right before the cruel merveil fight I found a molten strike. Popped out my cleave gem, popped in the level 1 molten, dps went up, kill speed and lgoh went way up. No elemental passives or supports either. Felt so dumb for having used cleave all that time.

If you cleave with dual wield do you get double lgoh every hit?

That's because multi-strike and cleave have no synergy.

Concentrated Effect has better synergy for making cleave more damaging.

Because we barely have cleavage ingame :[

You know what I hate the most? That Cleave has the best looking effect ever (Demon Hand Cleave) but is so freakin useless. Gief dat hand to Infernal Blow!!
