I wonder how GGG will handle "political correctness" in their game. Many publishers nowadays have pretty harsh restrictions for their costumers in terms of language used.
I personally hate this kind of censorship. Even if it's for the "sake" of adolescents. I mean, let's be realistic. If an adolescent uses the internet he/she will get loads of popups with sexually explicit content while surfing the net immediately. How can some harsh rules regarding the use of language in a game be useful under such conditions? It would be like amputating your foot if ur knee hurts. I'm 36 now, so i surfed the internet frequently when there was absolutely no censorship at all (ah...glorious times...). And i don't see anything has changed to the better since "political correctness" abducted the internet. Conditions are even getting worse. But i wander off the subject. So, will there be restrictions in using explicit language? Will i get banned for naming a character "MightyPenisOfDoom" or the like? Btw: Me and my buddies just quit playing World of Tanks because we were not allowed to call our Clan "[KOT]Haufen", which is german for "pile of [excrements]" (besides other reasons for quitting). Ridiculous isn't it? I was very happy to see character names in PoE like "Thundertits" and other explicit but funny stuff. I hope GGG keeps it this way. Bad taste should be allowed. For children on the internet, there are parental controls. There is nothing similar in games, except the initial decision of what games to allow in the first place. This is more difficult to control when games are free.
While I find crude humor funny, I think it's fairly stupid to name a character WhorishCunt or TitsMcCock. It's immature, childish humor used for attention. It's like the type who name a character Blue Waffle just to entice people to look up what it means (disclaimer: don't look it up if you don't know). Just one man's opinion. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.

Violence is way more offending, destructive than the human body, bodyfunctions, sex or the like. Don't you think? So if you allow adolescents to play a game like PoE, You should allow them to use foul language too. This americanized morality is pure bullshit. Sorry. Violence is ok, sex is evil. Thats bullshit, trolls and idiots will allways get ignored and isolated by the community. Strict rules and powerhungry mods are the cancer of modern gaming, like the general way of the internet, which is nowadays made for the casual facebook- and amazonusers.
