Beam Spells

Path of Exile slavishly imitates Diablo 2, by including all of that game's stupid mechanics. Now you're saying a great feature should be dismissed just because it is in Diablo 3?

A beam without cooldown in this game would be extremely powerful, and that's before supports.

A beam's damage and hits are calculated in pulse/second even though it looks continuous. There should be no problem balancing it with a bit of testing and number crunching.

And if you're gonna say, there are all sorts of other ranged skills, that's not the point. Beam skills look really nice. D3 beam skill looks better than almost any skill in Path of exile. Besides this would offer variety and opens up new builds.

I wish GGG little less time on crappy MTX like hide-out decorations and more time on things that really make the game better like: new skills, new weapon types, ability to choose your character's gender (male scion, and male witch)...

I think they added searing bond for a reason. If there was a beam skill like the one from D3 it would be different than searing bond as its more player controlled. You stand there shooting into a single direction instead of how it is with searing bond, being linked to something. The linked part is where the balance lies compared to D3, where you shoot into one direction and hit a lot of stuff and therefore kill way more than you ever could with searing bond in POE.

Not to mention D3 is a casual game, casuals are happy to shoot a large beam all over the place killing stuff fast and epically with a kamehameha. You have awesome looking nuke spells there and transformations and such, need i say more on what D3 is supposed to be geared towards? Even im a casual and i dont need that in this game, if i want to use disintegrate i fire up D3 and run around with a wizard, to seriously play a arpg i play POE though.

A zero support skill is always a bit meh, people already complained before of how so few gems affect searing bond and this skill would probably be limited either by a cooldown or a few to no supports let alone be limited in range.

In short: Searing bond is your beam spell.
DirkAustin, as usual making a comment about how PERFECT PoE is just the way it is.

Um, why exactly do you want a beam spell? You got one, like we already got mercs in the form of the guardian. Some things work somewhere else but not here for a few reasons i dont feel the need to explain to someone like you.
Your opinion is noted Dirk.

Now moving on, let's rally for beam spells in Act 4!
