Builds were viable with 4 Links. The introduction of next to untested support gems created broken builds, such as Sporkers.
Crit builds became more and more powerful.
This is the core of an ARPG.
A character feels good, without being overpowered and it's improveable.

Yes there are problems with certain areas like Dom etc etc but as i said that is only a matter of time before those problems get resolved

Change of Auras/Charges are questions of taste.
Performancewise there hasn't been any improvement for a long time.
And it doesn't look like there will be any.

You never played back then. 4k was normal 7k was average while lifebuilds had 6k if they were good and 8k pure vit/Kaoms 10-13k ES was high end.
The problem were granites provided 10k Defense they made you take barely any damage.
Overall you can reach more ES now with level 75+ mods.

GGG reduced ES mods a lot and they reduced life mods just a bit , again pls dont forget everything was freaking easy on CB and having that much EHP pool was the main problem back then...

I remember 11.0 and they introduced one shot bullshit.
8->6->8
And no they kept ES the same with 11.0.
They destroyed CI with OB and created chaos resists as lame excuse for CI.

It was easy because the highest life and ES rolls only needed level 64 items and not 75+
Players only crafted for high life rolls because granites provided 10k armor and EC 5% reduce.
Also rolling mods had the same chance for each mod. Not a smaller chance for high tier mods.

The 1 week Turbo in CB had a 60% rip rate despite your so called "broken ES" and all CI builds died.
Speed was the only thing needed to add difficulty.
With OB nobody played CI anymore.

23/700 players killed Vaal Merciless in CB 1 week turbo. Only 12 lived till the end.
Rips in regular 1 weekers.
Exhaustion, PC Crash....

Same goes on and on.
The rip rate only increased with the introduction of 1 shot bullshit, till everybody went blind, enfeeble and other crap not to get hit.
And again the riprate went to next to zero.

What happened to mapboss kills? Oh right they wont be fought till you pass the gearcheck.

Echo just came in and one of the biggest problems spells had (mana cost) got really improved..If you are going to say anything please tell me how echo is not an improvement .

Echo is just another support gem creating a Flavour of the League, same as CoC and other stuff.
And Mana has only improved there isn't a single possible combination any more where spells cost 250+ mana per cast.

You still owe me a video of a level 12-14 character killing merv with summons. And if you show me a video of a 20min+ fight you disqualified yourself.

But why don't they have to be resummoned over and over again after certain level?
I highly doubt that a pure summoner can kill merv now, without ending up in spamming skeletons which also get killed.

Summoner is a prime example why spells are broken. They don't work early game and suddenly they work. Others work and suddenly they suck.

Raging spirit aren't summons in the classical ARPG sense.
They aren't targetable. They are more like destroyable projectiles.
They benefit from summon nodes but that's it. GGG could create an icereplica not benefitting from summonnodes and it would be the same.

Either create a craftbased game with current rates or don't create a game that needs 5-6 links for effective play.
