Location save on quitting game/DC.

Not sure if suggested (probably is) but its one of most annoying things so I might put my 2 cents in and maybe put more attention on this problem. When we disconnect or quit the game we start back in town. Free recall is nice and all, but when you have to get back to where you were takes long and it's even harder because locations are random so you can't just go the way you went a while ago because u need to find a new way.

I understand that its beta and later on there will be less DC. But for now there are DC + there are times when i need to quit game and I'd like my progress to be saved. When i went for example 2 locations away from last waypoint and cant find new one and have to quit I'd have to get back there all over again. Really annoying...

So when we quit the game or get DC make the game remember what location character was at and make it resume from same one, even if it will new randomized again. Where to start you ask? Obviously from the place we came from last time. SO if it was waypoint then waypoint and if it was from other location then start from the way from that location.

ps. it would be nice to have recall in game too. Since log in log out is recall already, why not make it in-game?

Excellent point. I have been disconnected 6 times in the past 24 hours.
Thanks :P I think more people would agree this is really annoying and this option would be great to be implemented. Even when there won't be so many DC then it will be safe to quit the game whenever i want or go to toilet without being scared of dying or losing my portal scroll.
If you get a D/C you can usually (If you're fast enough) log back in and access the Instance Menu for the area you were in and you'll likely find your old instance there waiting for you to resume.

Means you might log in right into a pack of deadly mobs, not ready to react while you're playing on hardcore.

Well, this actually doesn't bother me so much (well...except when I made it two instances from a waypoint) since most games I play except console games (even some of them) do the exact same thing.

The only exception is when in a party and I am the only one to dc...then most games I play bring you back in the dungeon unless the party completed without you...most groups with any form of integrity will give you 5 minutes or so to see if you come reconnect before completing unless they are in a boss fight...no way to really stop that.

They want it so that you respawn at the entrance to the zone and presumably the 5 second amnesty timer will be in effect until you move your character. (Much like it already does after a area transition)

Yeah, this. At least until the servers are more stable. Having to rerun a couple of instances because of a drop can be a mighty pain. I mind if I'm dumped at the entrance or what.
I think have another two ways could solve this problem:
One way is creating one waypoint at every areas of the game because dont have waypoints at every areas, this would shorten the distance to walk through between each area.
Another way would be the old way, saving every player progress locally at his computer.

Neither of these solutions would work too well for the game. Waypoints are spread out the way they are to discourage people doing constant boss runs, it's a design decision. Local saving isn't an option because it would make hacking characters a total breeze.
