no, my guess is you are just another disciple of the "game is fine" cult, who over-leveled and over-geared everything remotely risky in Act 3 Sceptre Of God, and feels like he knows enough about the game to lecture people who actually try to tackle the actual mechanics.

and I suggest you go try your level 90+ against Palace Dominus instead, and see how fun that would be.

maybe unplug your thousand-dollar GPU and SSD before that, so you know exactly how I feel.

Hmmm, I did so many palace dominus that I dont remember exactly how many times, that boss doesnt hard as you think it is ( if you spare some "whining time" to farm gear ofc)

I'm not sure how you understand the "actual mechanic" of this game, maybe throw a 10 chaos pieces of gear character and he could beat Atziri?

And FYI, I'm running this game at 60 fps with Dual Core G3220 processor, VGA HD 7770, 4 GB ram, probably not some kind of "thousand-dollar GPU and SSD". You should replace your computer, it's too old already.

unlike you, I don't measure gear in dollars... ahem "chaos".
and please enlighten me: how exactly does one "farm gear"?

Atziri? only got to try that zone once.
guess why.
I'll give you a hint: it's the same thing that makes your "farm gear" statement sound stupid.
it's also the same thing that stacks together, to nullify any and all traces of real aRPG this game has.

your rig? not the monster I expected, but still a lot better than mine in every way, and a giant overkill for the kind of game PoE should be, with its level of graphics.

my rig? it's exactly at that level.
you can easily guess my FPS at a typical Dominus fight: just pick a number between 0 and 10.
which btw didn't stop me from beating him in HC. as melee.
I'm also close to going up against him as a completely self-found pure caster, and will try not to RIP.
giant wall Cruel Dominus that is. don't have the balls to challenge the Merc one, yet.

so tell me more about mechanics, and how you can teach me.
your next response should be "hurr durr me have level 90 and you no. me much better player than you!", for complete lack of a better argument.
at which point I'll just leave you alone to admire yourself.

bottom line for this thread:

Blood Rain is a stupid mechanic that punishes players in a way beyond their own playing skills. it should either be:
1) removed completely.
or
2) confined to "danger zones" that aren't "the whole damn screen except one tiny bubble around Dominus". and the entrance to the arena before you actually fight the guy, should never be a "danger zone" - because that's fucking around with SC players with inferior hardware, like myself.

and you know what? if I can't stand inside a raining zone without dying - no minion of Dominus should.
shooting me from outside while I can't do anything about it? bullshit!
you want to hurt me, pretty Miscreations? then come into the bubble and try! all of you.
I also need you to fill my flasks and Vaal Gem charges, because I'm far, far from having the uber-gear to just face-tank your bastard boss.

You farm gear by running bosses and/or corrupted zones and/or run maps.

You've only gotten to try atziri once because why? Because you haven't put the time into collecting the parts enough or collecting enough currency to buy them?

POE's "level of graphics" is actually pretty damn good, and it has a lot of lighting/particle effects that, while not well optimized, look absolutely beautiful. So while I can relate to the game being poorly optimized, if you're running 10fps then you're not running a rig anywhere near sufficient for modern gaming, and I doubt it would barely pass for 5-6 year old games either.

0-10 fps? that's not an accomplishment, that makes you an idiot. Go spend $50 and buy a low-end modern card and you'll be able to run the game at 40+ no problem. Stop blaming other things or trying to act superior to others because you choose to play on a potato.

This wasn't directed at me, but if you're struggling on dom after having already killed him at a different time I don't know what to tell you. You clearly knew the mechanics enough to kill him, yet now for some reason you went unprepared, died, opted not to use the grace/invulnerable period when you first enter an instance and then decided it would be a good idea to rant about your own incompetence in the forums. Good going.

And yet hundreds, if not thousands of players manage to kill dom on bad hardware consistently and without having too many problems. The rain is perfectly fine as a mechanic. If you die under the bubble then you either A) don't have enough bleed flasks, B) don't have enough leech/regen, C) Some combination of A and B. There is really no reason to die to Dom's second form if you're properly prepared. His second form is just a gear-check. You can also just drop a decoy or Searing Bond totem and he'll focus a lot of attention on that instead of you.

Bro, you are overly mad about this. The fight is fine, the second form is just a gearcheck. If you can't kill his second form consistently then swap gear around, or change flasks, or get more leech, ect. This problem lies squarely on you.

And before you even say it, no, I'm not a member of the "everything is unicorns and rainbows" crowd, but I do have enough sense to know what is and is not broken (usually); the dom fight is not broken or mechanically lacking/overtuned.
oh boy...
let's get started, shall we?

farmed. took on crazy rares and doomsday bosses, never leaving a map not full-cleared.
got nothing note-worthy.
ran out of both maps and orbs to roll them.

then just ran quests with a new char afterwards.
got Exalts, Divines and good uniques from fucking barrels.
been doing that ever since, though without the "Exalts Divines and good uniques" part.

fuck "end game" and fuck the "economy" it comes to serve.

RNG is RNG, and RNG doesn't give a fuck about who you are, how skilled you are, and what do you do to try and earn its favour.

I'm actually ashamed of myself I had to grind for a fucking year and well over 1000 hours, to reach this trivial conclusion.
I could just spare myself the part of grinding 'till my ass hurt, and switch to the "casual mode" I play today, from the beginning.

Atziri? RNG is again the answer. I gave a hint, you didn't use it.
non-existent Midnight Fragment for-the-bullshit.

my "potato" rig - which if you had any damn clue about computers, you'd know not to say a fucking stupid statement like "just spend 150$ on a GPU to upgrade it" - runs games 5-6 years old just fine, as long as they aren't named "Crysis". including one awesome game called "Titan Quest".
it also runs another - 2+ year-old - aRPG called "Torchlight 2" amazingly well, and that game has almost as much eye-candy and particle effects, as PoE does.
that's the "level of graphics" I was talking about. GGG's lack of willingness to use a tried and true engine, or at least optimize that train-wreck they created by themselves, is what makes my Dominus fight be 10 FPS, and little else.
no, wait: double that with them being assholes enough, to answer my plea for an option to disable weather effects, with "but that would ruin the atmosphere!".

"
<some bullshit about me not using the grace period>

didn't I explicitly say this is about SC, and about running up the stairs while it rains, after dying in SC? but reading clearly isn't your strong side, so I'm beginning to wonder why I'm even bothering with this.

you just contradicted yourself.
and no amount of gear-swapping will save you from re-entering the zone only to insta-die to rain 20 times, until you can actually time that Quicksilver just right to reach him, and actually get on with the bloody fight.
and if you spammed your precious Staunching flasks along the way, that means they are empty by the time you are under that fucking bubble, fighting him. which means you are screwed.

Dominus Hand teleport? not once did it happen to me, while standing down below the actual arena.
grace period? fuck I'm just repeating myself again - I do not know what the fuck that is, but I guess that's the thing other players have while I'm still loading.

so, nothing broken right?
and you say you're not from the "all is fine" crowd....

fuck this, I'm out of this thread.
wasted too much time as it is, arguing with people who have no bloody reason, ability to read, or compassion for others.

Np, we will let you escape with your dignity lol

Too bad that someone chose to live in denial...
I thought for sure this thread was going to be about the asshole bleeding you get from eating any food from Dominoes.
