What will we do without Charan?

Its ok...its kind of dull. Its no PoE.

Edit; The itemization is what made me stop playing it. The designs are boring and I never felt happy about finding anything, played it for about 10 hours or so. Everything just feels too...loose?

You just called dumb a game with real crafting, true risk/reward ingame system, complicated enough skill tree to enable various build customizations, a game well balanced with few balance issues, constantly improved and fixed.

I can't tell which of both is better, as they are in fact quite different, though placed in the same genre, but GD's far away from dumb. And definitely worth it's money.

I never called it dumb, I called it dull.

Yeah, sorry.
I was under the same impression when I didn't play it regularly, but I changed my mind later on. Initially it feels a bit dull, true.
I guess 10h were not enough to catch you.
Also it's not as addictive, as PoE is, that's true.

I like having Information and making choices based on that.

My problem with grim dawn is that a lot of stat related stuff is hidden behind some kind of flavour text.

There even were some skill where I don't know how that thing would actually play out. There is a vague flavor-y text and based on that you have to make an assumption how the actual skill works. Do I throw it or do I drop it or what? It's a bit hard to plan out a build/playstyle if you don't have that kind of information.

Or the thing with the blacksmiths. Which to choose. You don't get any information in-game about what benefits a particular blacksmith actually gives until you have chosen.

But it's a nice change of pace and gets better.

We all have different opinions. I dont like many games but the ones i do like you probably never heard of sometimes. You like Grim Dawn, someone else might not. :)

My problem ...

Yeah, GD lacks enough skill/stat info and some tips and tutorials. I had to read their forum about things that interest me. About the blacksmiths - there's no real difference which one you pick, it's just cosmetic:) Game is designed in a way you can't make "wrong" decisions, in terms of locking content, or access to something important, which I personally applaud.

True. I didn't mean to preach on how incredible it is, but that it's a good one that may fit to fans of the genre :)

Disclaimer : tittles don't impress me one bit, consistency in actions does.

Charan has always been inconsistent, as such, he will be back in a few months.

Some points to illustrate this.

1) wants solid balance and demands this from the programmers, yet at the same time, does not want obvious mechanics removed that make this balancing a nightmare. (trap + mine combinations is just one of those, other mechanics need to be "thumbed down" in complexity as well to enable good balancing in the future)

2) previous moderator, yet post's a thread without feedback in it in the feedback forums, knowing full well it offers nothing but a fishing game to the community. (at least, people like fishing, so there is that?)

3) ganking up on previous posters commenting on the fact there builds got destroyed by patch changes, yet now qq'ing himself over the very same fact without remorse.

Charan is just a regular inconsistent ass imo and his tittles give him no entitlement to being handled any differently then your regular joe posting on these forum boards.

Anyone else getting the feeling that Boem doesn't like Charan?

Oh well, nothing like kicking a dead mule.
I never hid that fact, but atm it is more the favoritism towards charan that i find troubling, independent of my personal beef with charans character.

Rights cannot be taken out from someone because of his character. What is yours is yours, be an ass or not.
If you invested 15000+ posts into a game it is just natural people will care about your so called 'last' opinion.

Let's put jealousy aside.

Is this a charan suck up thread then? If so congrats because he is already gone.
