Why not have an option to donate to get into beta?

I think he means, donations in exchange for beta keys is against the principle of FREE game.

On the one hand, selling beta keys (call it DONATING if you want, but the concept is basically selling the keys) would be pretty inethical and against the grain of what GGG is aiming for.

On the other, people are buying beta keys for $50+.

Decisions, decisions.

when the game is out it would be a nice edition to helping out the company if they would liek it :)

It comes down to everyone having the same chance of getting into beta. So you could pay your way into the beta? I can't I am a college student trying to make enough money to pay off college. The only difference between who goes in then is if you have money or not.

This is just the most terrible idea I have heard so far.

These threads need to stop. Since when has GGG ever said they have a money problem? When have they ever said that more money = faster development? The answer is never. They do not need our money. They have a plan and I am sure it is a good one. Give the guys some credit. Don't you think they are smart enough to plan out their own business model?

I can't speak for others, but I know I would happily pay $10 for a beta key if I knew it was going to the devs and not to someone who set up an alt account and is just pocketing the money.
