Inform everyone else that they are wrong As I'm feeling contrary, I have only complied with point #2. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Crest of perandus is really hard to beat. Even if you find a high block shield you're still missing out on that great lifeleech. During nemesis it took me forever to find an alternative since I really wanted to replace it.
Has substantially better evasion/res but still lose 2% block and lifeleech. You can now get corrupted versions for cheap prices so that makes it quite great for 85+ chars. Last edited by kasub#2910 on Jun 9, 2014, 3:35:03 AM

Great for leveling, especially if your skills fit the gem level boost. Decent evasion & great mana regen. The negative resistances mean nothing unless the rest of your gear is absolutely abysmal. Good stat stick for non-weapon damage builds until finding better stuff. Grants tons of freedom for affixes in other slots. Reduced rarity barely has an effect and you can easily counteract it with one piece of gear anyway if you really want to. I used this up to about level 75 with one character. |

Deerstalker has quite nice 3D art and you can get some nice shards from vendoring it, it's quite usable in those both areas.
Anticipation slowly dissipates...

The helmet provides 20% all resistances in cruel, which is hilariously easy to get, whether by 3-4 passive points or 2 rings if you were that unlucky (or lacking knowledge) to get those resistances elsewhere. The helmet provides 60% all resistances in merciless. By then, if you can't get positive resistances you're just lacking knowledge and should consider changing the game genre. "Plenty tanky" with zero resistances, top statement of the year. If you want to perform better in any way, you should just take the helmet off. What additional magic find? I got it all without that helmet easily, self found, on 70th level. That helmet just provides a different play, which you may find entertaining, but I find that just gimping myself so hard. If you were flowing through the content "so fast", you would be flowing much faster without it (well maybe not you obviously, but everyone else). If not playing in a hardcore league, your "never had to stop and level up" is not an accomplishment at all. Again, not anywhere near being underrated, just fucking bad and worth the bottom place.
