If I "exile you" then we are talking about the physical event, if you call yourself an "exile" is what you are prob speaking of. That means you accepted the fact in your mind that are one which is ontological thing you are talking about. Even if you don't accept it, forget it, live in a new place and forget about it or everyone forgets about it. You were still "exiled" even if you don't remember your call yourself as an exile.
Everyone on the island called themselves islands is because they accept it and they know they are one, even if they all forget all instantly and made a new town. They were still exiled and the main country still views them as exiles. If everyone in the new town and the homeland forget they were exiles, they still got "exiled" to begin with because exile is a physical event.
Yes, because it was an "event" - I get that, but how are you going to punish someone if they aren't that same someone? That's why it's flawed as a term - that's why I don't understand it; it was built on primitive thinking!
And again, how are they exiled? It's not the people exiling them. It's physics - death threats and what not that's making their options next to nothing in fear of their own safety.
that's not exiling... There's no accurate depiction of exiling because the entire definition is a joke.
The punishment is the exile itself ;v Doesn't matter if you forgot it because you were already punished.

How is it a punishment if it's based on physics, not the person? Like it's nature that makes exiling even remotely possible. If nature wasn't such a hard ass with steel bars and other incredibly tough surfaces, there wouldn't be any of this.

Doesn't matter if I whipped you 20 times and you forgot about it and became a new person, you already received the punishment.
Usually people in exile usually don't face this problem because they are dead. You know because you exile people into places that have extremely high chance of death to begin with because you don't want to bother of killing them and burying them or want to give them a long prolonged death/suffering.
It doesn't matter what "you" the person receiving the exile think or feel, the punishment is to remove you from my country and prob suffer a horrible death.

The body received the punishment - the "person" didn't receive anything. Why do you think there are masochists out there?
And where is the punishment coming from? The person, or the forces of that person?

Exiling is a physical punishment much like whipping, same way getting whipped is a punishment though it's only physically.
It doesn't matter if the "person" didn't receive anything, the punishment wasn't mental torture.
Also if you don't feel bad or have any metal stress from being kicked out of your homework away from all of your family, friends and forced to live in super shitty conditions were you would prob instant die fearing from your life everyday then you have some other issues.
Your connected to your body and that's how you feel the world and obtain information about it, they aren't separate things.

It's physiological, not physical. The body is physical, the pain receptors are physiological.
Anyways, you need to realize that it's all physics being manipulated - there's not a single act that inquires the personal attribution because it deals with an ontological problem, the "person", their "personality", their "morals" - you can't physically punish the non-physical -- anyone that believes so is absurdly illiterate in thinking.
But for now I must go, Ragnarok. I hope to see you again!

That's the point that your missing. What if I can't feel pain? What would the whip do to you? The whipping is a punishment because the giver of the punishment would assume you would feel pain and therefore be "punished by it."
Exiling isn't "you can't come back here." It's the fact that you get to live in super shitty conditions isolated from your past friends/family/all you know and would most likely die a prolonged death. The punishment is the "exile" but that's not the entire thing behind it.

the point is that exiling is based on false pretenses - physics being abused is not a personal attribution
if a person lost their memories and became a new person - everything from exiled to actions committed and all that does not exist for that new person - it existed only in the old
person

let me restore some perspective for you, ok?
a business cheats families out of their life earnings and it's just business.
when the business is under fire - no don't take away my stuff, plz have mercy.
Yeah Sneaky... your "tough luck" is used by dumbfounded arrogance.
You are comparing a 'Person' that changed his personality with a Business that is goind under?
Who is under delusions now...

Your personality resides in your brain.

Your skull is part of your body.
You many not be your body, but you've got bigger problems than the meaning of exile if you aren't inside it.

The real question is why the rouge exiles do not attack monsters and why they don't get attacked. Also, why is there apparently a "Battlefront" when the two sides don't fight eachother, but rather exclusively attack the player? I know the practical answers but it still doesn't sit well with me. Same with exiles using Vaal skills without souls.
I always hate when very concrete game rules or mechanics are overturned for enemies (as common as it is, and knowing the practical answers to the questions).
