You don't HAVE to kill it. If you can't kill it, just skip it and run for the encampment.

Whirling blades and Leap Slam will enable you to move and destroy traps in the way.

Also, TP is a non-combat feature, try not to use it in battle specially in solo play.

Yea it sucked, I wish the Soviet won the war that way we wouldn't had to suffer all those evil things that came out from there.
