Three seconds is still insanely OP. This skill can boost ES from 8k to 14k and apply almost instant regeneration.

Not my image

Combine it with Increased Duration support gem and Duration nodes from the passive tree and you can easily get it close to 6 seconds, maybe even higher.

Link it to high level CwDT or CwS and you have free survivability - also it goes from requiring 24 souls to 48 at level 20, good balancing I say.

my main build can increase it to 7.5 with ID gem, still, not worth the links,

gem slots are highly important,

and waste 2 gems, for a 7.5 sec of "immortality" (not realy unless u r a CI build with alot of ES),

i can self cast immortal call..... for more then 7.5 sec.... or vall immortal call....

to realy become immune,

this is not realy ballanced,

sorry,

and anyone seen vaal haste? i didn't, but allso, if it's 3 sec, well.... is useless two...

Time for ES recharge to kick in: 6 seconds
With 100% increased energy shield recharge: 3 seconds

I think it's safe to assume unless you chain these you won't really benefit fully from the effect of the aura.

You recharge constantly while Vaal Discipline's active.
Even if you took damage 0.1 seconds before? It doesn't say so.
It says that energy shield recharge isn't stopped by damage, you still have to wait for it to start afaik.

Taking damage is the only thing that prevents ES recovery in the first place as far as I know.

When I used the skill at ~1/2 of my max ES, ES recovery began immediately. While still standing in the middle of a pack.

Edit:

Nevermind, tested it out.
Recharge starts the second you activate it.

Take damage from a monster and then move away.

ES recovery won't start immediately, there is a 6 seconds base cooldown before ES recovery starts which scales down as you pick ES recharge nodes.
The aura just says that taking damage won't reset this 6 second cooldown, it doesn't say "you recover es constantly during aura effect".

What, if not the damage you just took, is delaying your ES recovery? That is, what causes recovery to not start immediately as soon as your ES is not 100%?

Even while standing in a patch of burning ground, I recover ES while Vaal Discipline is active.

Vaal discipline seems to reset the internal cooldown when activated.
