Garena is adding skill tree resets as a micro transaction in 1.1.3. Thoughts?
" The big difference is that Stash Tabs have been there right from the start. Admittedly, they are a bit of a grey area when it comes to the P2W question but until now, everyone knew that this was where the line was drawn. Also, while you can buy those stash tabs for real money, you still have to fill them by aquiring items through playing the game. A full respec bought with real money, on the other hand, translates directly into game currency or items because you save a lot on those regrets you'd have to buy else and the saved currency can be used on buying gear. Next time you want to buy something ingame, try explaining to the seller that you don't have the currency he asks for but that he should still give it to you because you have 50 stash tabs, then you might realize that there is actually a big difference between stash tabs and RMT respecs... |

" I have no problem with either, and to me, they are both "pay for convenience". But I do feel that stash tabs provide the bigger advantage (and a permanent one, whereas the skill reset is one-use service). Yes, you are right, people's perception of stash tabs is different and they are considered more acceptable. I wonder if that is because more people actually want those? I bought quite a few of them, and I feel they are quite essential. @Malvar: Stash tabs were added at some point during beta. They weren't initially there. But it is a good point insofar that GGG did make certain statements that in hindsight may have been premature. But I can't say I have never done that myself! :) Last edited by Mivo#2486 on May 1, 2014, 2:35:15 AM

I really really hope it never comes here. This is a straight differecial line chris had in the past.I dig up this post, but i am certainly remember him say such feature never come in the gamee, cant find post in 479 post page he made. But i found this
"I appreciate your concern, but as stated from the start, our monetisation model is to sell cosmetic perks like social pets. We will not sell new quests, enemies, features or items " This is on april 5 of 2012.2 years later chris thinks its not a gamebreaking feature to have this kind of service?Chris, are you for real?Seriously. I am one of those "white knights",but this thing deserves further investigation and explanation. Is this the real stance you have on this kind of options provided by Garena?Cause i feel that if you feel that Garenas decision isnt gamebreaking, then it might implemented here later. What is going on?Seriously i am on heavy thoughts here. And yes,it is gamebreaking, when it will straight up affect orb of regrets.Might remind you its the top currency on vendor, along with alchemy orbs.Might as well give them free. Sorry for my short-temper,but i think this requires more answers Bye bye desync!

" After reading what Charan wrote in the other current thread about this, i realized that there is one problem with this question: Even if Chris actually disliked what Garena does here, he could hardly go public with a statement like that and expect not to ruin the relationship between GGG and Garena (which as i understand it, seems to be pretty important in financial terms)... Maybe we have to accept that the statement we got is all he can give us and try to read between the lines... (I still hate that this happens, i just start to wonder if attacking GGG at this point is as helpful as i thought at first...) |

" They don't have the brightest employees. I think the average employee there makes a little under 75% of a Diamond Pack a month. Rent in the city would be bout 1/3rd of that. Working conditions are also..kinda shit. The average ground staff does everything from support work to planning events to preparing stuff for others. Also you have to go for roadshows if/when they crop up. And as we all know, those things can last till midnight. On. a. weekend. You really just have no reason to want to work hard. Its a thankless job. So you just do the minimum acceptable job. |

Please never let that come to International PoE
This is definitely pay2win--you buy your time for trade/grind those regret orbs or make a new character. If you really think save time =/= pay2win, then I suggest you start to sell inventory slots or the pet that can pick items for you, those should save A LOT OF time too,and still be "not game-breakingly harmful" Last edited by thisistcy#3794 on May 1, 2014, 3:15:40 AM

" What does someone's intelligence have to do with how much money they make? Plenty of "bright" people end up working in jobs that they don't enjoy or that pay less than the person's qualification might justify. They may simply not have a choice.
" Maybe you should have read the whole post... |

" It did read the whole post. It contained more of the same conceited stuff.
" It comes from people who work in these companies. So their words, not mine. When I was working in a similar sort of company, I was asked to do some pretty stupid shit. The bright ones learn to say no and make a better proposal. Those are the ones that move up faster and get paid better. The not so bright ones just say yes and get stuck with the same job they've had for the last 5 years. And that ^ came from my ex-bosses. |
