Realm population limits

I was wondering how many players will be able to fit into each realm/world/server?
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.

We don't have any technical limit at all - they can be as large as needed.

Because the gameplay takes place in instances, it's very easy to add more servers to handle load as the game grows.

Oh, ok thank you that answers it. Although the village i saw the village in the demo. Will there be a limiting factor to how many people are in a town? or will it be like swimming through people? I remember playing Runescape, ugh it was annoying, and slowed game play down.

The town you saw is our Act 1 town, which is the smallest of the towns. The towns do have player limits, so multiple instances of the same town are spawned. The town player limits vary based on the physical size of the town. You're generally placed in a town instance that has more of your friends or guild members.

Could you give more details about what an instance is ?
So the instanced town is modified based on your friends and guilds. Wow thats awesome. Ok thanks that helps out a lot.

Oh and to answer your question Zool. A instance is to quote wiki is "A special area, typically a dungeon, that generates a new copy of the location for each group, or for certain amount of players, that enters the area." So basically there are two ways to make areas in MMO's you can either make one location that every player in the realm can occupy at the same time or do a instance where a small number of players get there own unique copy of the location. Also with this game being randomized it will truly make each instance unique. This is in my opinion the best way to do it in a MMO. It gets rid of waiting for boss to spawn, overcrowding, and better atmosphere. I hope this answers your question.

The only thing that will not be instanced in the game is town and other specific locations.

I strongly disagree, but PoE wouldn't work without them.
you actually liked sitting there waiting for spawns with the hope that you get the pull instead of one of the other groups camping? constant action is far better than camping imo but i guess we all have our opinions
