Fucking Regal Orb drop rate
Regal orb drop rate is one problem, but the real problem with crafting is that there is no middle ground. Either you spam alterations and run around with magic items, or you go the next step and must invest minimum 3 exalt per item crafted just to get a full rare. It's just retarded game design.

" You mean intended. In your case I just wouldn't rely on creating top end rare items. They are also not needed to finish the game. If those could easily be created, there wouldnt be anything worthwile to look forward to itemwise. A decent drop in this game, is to be valued. Heart of Purity

" I don't even mean top end. If you want to craft an item with only 4 mods (probably the bare minimum to fill a gear slot of most mapping builds), that's going to cost you 1 exalt and a regal. It makes getting any kind of specific mods impossible for non traders. It could be possible for crafting to be viable halfway but instead it's pretty binary at the moment. Either you craft when you're overflowing with wealth, or you never craft at all. I can trade you some regals OP

" WHY THE FUQ WOULD I CARE? I don't trade any way. Piss of with your "worth".
" I don't want to create a truly rare item. What I have rolled are mediocre items, not max mods. So... your argument is invalid. And please fuck off with your trading. Not interested.
" Why would I care that you just plain want more stuff even though you don't seem to want to put any effort into doing so? You become practically overflowing with regals once you start consistently mapping 75s and up. Maybe you should get there if you want regals so badly. IGN: Smegmazoid

" What do you mean effort? If they don't drop, they don't drop. It's not like there's a boss that I can farm that drops regals. All I can do is wear more quantity gear and pop my flask and prey to the gods of RNG. And I don't want "plain more stuff". What I want is a reasonable drop rate so players can craft stuff. Playing from lvl 1-80 and not even seeing ONE REGAL orb drop is not reasonable.
" I agree with this. " And I agree with this. There has to be some kind of middle ground here. Right now, Regals are so rare, I would NEVER use one to "craft", as you just get that 1 try, and the chance of just wasting your ultra rare orb are almost assured. Lets face it, with the way the "crafting" in this game works, the chances to get a usefull mod are abysmally low, while the chance to get a useless upgrade (reflects 1 to attacker,...) are really high. Tell me, knowing this, what are Regals SUPPOSED to be used for? They are way too rare to be wasted on low level leveling gear. They are still too rare, and their effect is too random, to risk using on high level blue gear (you are better using the lower value, more common alchemy orb, than the Alteration/Regal technique. It will yeald a better item faster and at a lower cost) Their drop rate is to low to be used as currency. Their effect is not good enought for them to be WORTH much as currency. Its like if Regal Orbs are actually lower tier orbs (looking at their function), somewhere in the area of Alchemy Orbs, but who have their tier artificially heightened to insanely high (exalted tier) by their insane rarity. Funny how people regard Alchs and Chaos are "Crafting", when you have absolutely NO choice of the outcome, not even a portion.
At least after Alt, and you regal it, you can control 2 out of 3 mods. I wonder who taught these people Art at school, do they just teach you throw buckets of paint on a piece of canvas and call that a masterpiece? --- Anyway, the above doesn't imply I say regal rarity needs buffed or not, although honestly with simple blue mods and a regal, you can beat Merciless, and run maps. That is for sure. |
