Should I buy a Conqueror Support Pack?

Hey all,

I'm a big fan of gamemechanics design and always have plenty of ideas for new unique items that add diversity to the game. In my opnion I have come up with a really cool one:

The Profaner:

(The base is a Sentinal Jacket: req. level 59, 86 Dex and 86 Int,
granting 235 evasion and 69 energy shield)

(+15%-25%) life
Your armour also mitigates elemental and chaos damage
This chest piece cannot have more then 4 sockets
Blood Magic

The main drawbacks are obvious:
- No 6-link, unless you use a two-hander
- Provides few ES and EV, and no armour or resists
- Blood Magic, which means a hard time running aura's

For the obvious advantage:
- Armour works against every type of damage, not just physical, meaning small hits won't hurt you anymore no matter which source. It won't be easy to get your armour rating high though: This chest doesn't provide any at all, and if you use a shield you'll have no 6-link. Running aura's like Determination or Grace with Iron Relfexes is tricky because this item makes you a Blood Magic Build.
While armour becomes an all-round protection (although it will always suck against big hits), it will also be hard to get it high. Ideally ou'll need 3 prefixes on your other items: Armour (flat), Armour (%) and life (because you're blood magic).

Minor drawback:
- The chest requires 86 Dex/Int, while it suits a strength character

Minor advantage:
- You'll not waste an enormous amount of currency to 6-link it, because it can maximally only reach a 4-link, like gloves, boots or helmets

Now, the thing is: if I buy a Conqueror Pack the sole reason for that would be to have this item ingame. I don't see a use for it for any of my current characters, but this chest piece provides such specific advantages and drawbacks that I would like to experiment with a character that is based around it. By no means it forces you into a certain specific build so I'm also curious to see what people will do with it.

But, now my real question: how high is the chance for this item to be implemented in the game? Because if GGG doesn't like it, then I'm throwing all that money away for nothing (while I do like supporting GGG, for the price of a Conqueror Pack I would like to get this in return).

Should I buy a Conqueror Pack or not?

I don't think an item like that would make it into the game, this is of course just my opinion. Especially not with it also mitigating chaos.

All it would take to make this item incredibly OP would be someone in your party running grace, though my experience with party play in this game isn't vast, I'm fairly certain that grace is one of the most used aura's.

Thank you for your interest in supporting us! Unfortunately we are not offering the opportunity to design unique items in the current supporter packs. We do hope to have this feature available in the future, however currently it is not.
Please contact support@grindinggear.com if you need any help.
IMO, support packs should always be purchased as a one way deal. Do it as a way to buy GGG coffees, etc., and to thank them for what PoE has been/is/will be to you. If you need more than that in return, you'd be better served buying MTs as needed.

It's better to have an idea rather than solid list of affixes when you go to GGG with a unique idea. They may make an item that has the same basis/intent as that one but if you want that exact item with those exact stats to be implemented, it probably won't be. They'll definitely work with you to make an item similar enough that they consider balanced, though.

Also, the Conqueror support pack doesn't let you make a unique.
its a really cool idea though

If other people run grace/determination for you ofcourse it would make you incredibly strong, but I wouldn't call it OP:

1) You have to stay close to them to have the effect of the aura. If you step outside their radius, you're suddenly much weaker.

2) The player that is running those aura's doesn't benefit from your special armour. They can still die equally easy. If they die, you're left without the aura's.

3) Against big hits, armour doesn't offer much protection. Armour alone will never save you from all kinds of attacks, even with this chest. Even if you somehow get a steady grace/determination running, armour still will only reduce like 10% of the damage of a really big hit so you stay very vulnerable in a good number of cases.

Ouch, that is a real pity. I didn't know that. But I'm sure many players have original ideas that GGG would appreciate. Why not offering a "design 1 unique and send it to GGG" microtransaction to players? I don't need the points, t-shirts,... I just want to officially send my idea to GGG. Ofcourse they are not obliged to implement it in any way, but I would like to have the opportunity to create a unique and have it noticed by GGG. They can still do whatever they want with it then, including throwing it in the dustbin if they don't like it. I'm sure there are other creative players who would purchase this feature.

Then the idea is to make armour mitigate all types of damage at some serious drawbacks to prevent it being OP. GGG can balance this item the way they want.

Thanks!
This is a really interesting concept, but i am wondering if the drawbacks are not to high?

When compared with other unique's that offer valuable and strong mods on them the drawbacks far exceed the benefits in comparison.

I would be inclined to make it an armor base, to reduce the penalty and even give it a reasonable amount of armor to add flavor to the mod/armor.

The reason for this would be the investment required in the passive tree to get reasonable amounts of reduction to actually have a benefit from utilizing this mod.

Having blood magic is already a very hefty drawback in itself given you don't get the aura reduction node located behind it. Being only a 4-link is also a veeerrryyyy strong drawback for an armor.(a single gem usually adds around 20%more dps per slot at endgame, this nerfs your dps with 40% +- in an endgame scenario)

My suggestion, make the base an armor base or add a modifier that reads
"local defenses are transformed to armor" this ensures the drawback of requiring int/dex, while still providing a benefit to the user.

Allow it to 6-link.

Given the nature of the armor it would most likely be used combined with a shield, not allowing a 6-link in that situation would render this item uselles.

Another thought crossing my mind while i write this could be,

"has no sockets"

"links sockets from shield and weapon to form a 6-link"

Bassicaly a cheap 6-link with "some" solid advantages when utilized and build around properly. While still taking out -6 slots overall in the build (a very heavy price)
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

This actually was a microtransaction in beta, it cost $1,000. It's the same design-a-unique offered in the past supporter packs, without the points/titles/other stuff. It was taken out of the microtransaction store with release since there was a large backlog of uniques that still needed making. I hear that you can email support if you're still keen on doing this and they may accommodate you.
on the topic , why not give the option for people to craft a mtx from their conquers packs .

like a unique skin or affect free from the baggage of needing balance in the context of the game.

I am sure plenty of clans would pay money to get a cape / armor piece / affect / skin / banner / pet with a clan sigil stamped somewhere

hell id pay money for a summon armmy of kiwis mtx for the summon skeleton / zombie
