lol, interesting analogy, and can't really disagree. GL
No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.
Hopefully they then create a superb 4 month HC league next time.

So, i would say the situation is really dire. Cause this post is up for 2 hours, and yet no fanboys here to defend GGG. I would say something is really wrong with this game.

Anyway off to work, browse for new game to play :)

gl to you gamers, and i would say gl to GGG but i dont think there is enough amount of luck that can help them

just a thought, i feel like GGG people are like people that work in a mine, and they found biggest diamond in the world which just needs to be polished and brushed to its perfection and they are doing it with an axe

such a shame, this game had so much potential :((

Many of the Invasion fanboys went sour when their summoners got nerfed.

This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

Even if you play ranged char, since melee char is not an option for HC version of your game, do you think it is wise to have mobs that can one shot you with best gear available, super def build with no mods on maps that lower your defense or increase mob offense?

It's frustrating as hell, and I think your entire post pretty much reflects my own feelings quite well for this HC season.

But right here is the crux, I think you nailed it - when you reach a point where absolutely everything you do is focused on redoubling your defense/survival at the expense of everything else and you STILL get one-shot without making any mistakes there is a very serious problem with balance.

What did you learn?

Do you go back and make your character EVEN MORE defensive? You cannot, there is no learning curve here. I do not trust it, and I will not invest any more of my time with these “death lottery” mechanics in place. This whole season is a wash as far as I’m concerned.

Hey! At least the soft-core league was a success, right? “Evil urns” with godly loot where nobody loses anything (unless their inventory is full, maybe you can fix that next GGG?) and now they don’t even need a portal to return to keep progressing. Pardon me, I think I need to vomit.
So is consensus that 1.1.2 did little/nothing to fix the real problems? Because encountering the new Cannibal Glacial Cascader in an unmodded Jungle Valley last night, it certainly looks as if they've learned nothing from the last month. I'm going to push a little farther out of morbid curiosity, but my interest in the league, and the game generally, is at an all time low.
Quitting?

Can please I have all your stuffs?
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

There are too many of these kinda posts lately...

Looking at your stats it's quite obvious you are a very dedicated player, regularly putting in 10+ hr sessions on HC leagues & many 90+ charas...just the type of player this game was made for & yet here we are with yet another RQ thread. Sad.

This is sad, I agree

I'm sorry OP =(

You could play ambush, and... wait for it... delete your character if you die.

This is a pretty good post. However, I kind of see where GGG was trying to go with Invasion this league.

I am in love with the concept behind attacks like Vaal Slam and Dominus' Touch of God. Huge, usually lethal damage, with a wind-up which gives you time to escape the area and survive. I seriously love that type of gameplay. I love the idea that "you can't facetank everything" and thus actually have to maneuver your character. I feel Invasion was an attempt to bring this feeling to a far higher number of encounters than the vanilla version of the game.

However, in order to properly deliver on that experience, GGG needs to deliver on an environment where you can trust the information your screen is giving you, so that you can make the correct commands with your mouse. I don't think it's any surprise that the infamous Boneshaper is jokingly referred to as "/oosecati," and that the primary threat he represents is not in beating you fair and square, but in one-shotting you when you didn't even realize you were within his range.

I don't see Invasion as an inherently idiotic concept. Encouraging more maneuver-based gameplay in a league where extreme tankiness would otherwise be the primary go-to makes sense in a way. I even kind of think that, in some imaginary time later in PoE's process of continuous improvement, such a league could be hugely popular. However, the current desync situation utterly prevents this from being the case, and is something which GGG seriously underestimated when designing Invasion.

Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree with the idea of attacks like Vaal smash and Doms touch of good. Design behind them is excellent - you are warned that the attack is coming by rather elaborate animation, you have ample time to position and manuever into best possible position and live through it.

What speaks the most about these attacks it that I used to die a lot to Vaal smash. Now, I don't remember when was the last time I died to it. The game just simply thought me how to manage that attack, without just sitting there and taking in the hit.

I also love the new monster design, it also has a quite long period of charing up, allowing you to move out of the way.

I would definitely like to see more mobs designed like that, a heavy hitting attack that you just have to evade. But with the game letting you have a chance at evading it. That's a good kind of difficulty.

No mod action. Business as usual.
