Anyways... spamming trade chat is not a skill, nor is it interesting, so I do not understand people against an auction house unless they can say with a straight face they do not use poe.xyz, or any other 3rd party auction house to find items they need because to me that is hypocritical.



Not to mention the guys quoting "look what happened to d3" lmao... ok let me get this straight. D3 flopped D3 had an auction house,so every game with an auction house is bad. The logic is so stupid imo. Not to mention you cannot compare D3's RMT auction house..

Well, XYZ sure did change the barter based trading and turned it into buyout based trading pretty much killing the bartering process i personally like so much.

Bartering is primitive hence why the world has setup actual economies with prices.

How would you like to go to a grocery store with zero prices on things and you had to barter for everything? It would be annoying as shit.

Anyways, back before people knew how much things were worth in POE there were massive scams/ripoffs constantly.

GGG said they will maybe add one, but buying item will be possible ony when seller is online... i personaly think AH would ruin game... its fun to chase for items... RMT'ers would just go in and b.o every item they want... i like arguing with ppl to earn alch, it sometimes makes ppl happy when they get small discount, sometimes it makes happy when u get otem after 10h w8ing for guy from other timezone... and i dont know how they would solve problems with ppl who can pay equiv. in exalts, not pures. :|

You forget something here, there are no set prices even in a´n acutal economy and since a economy uses money or as in some games gold and we dont have that here bartering is what we should do. Also, you think you can put a set price on something based on what? Its like IRL, you go to the grocery and pay 1 dollar for an apple the next grocery might have the same quality apple for 80 cent. In game terms its for example a legacy kaoms for 100 ex or its a legacy kaoms for 70 ex. Prices vary from person to person from store to store and therefore from player to player.[/quote]


And just like Poe.xyz, prices vary from person to person. The people against auction houses should be against poe.xyz because its damn near the same thing.

The point is, no first world economy is setup around bartering.

AH is not an option... and probably never will. It takes a lot of resources(servers) to log all the things and the database queries. Unfortunately they can't even set the game for a lot frequently sync rate. Adding an AH feature would just cause even more lag and desync.

I take it you've never been to a flea market/farmers market/etc? There's plenty of bartering in the world still, even in first world countries. There are places to shop outside of chain stores.

I've bought many things from people on POE.XYZ.IS for lower than their listed price. Because I saw that someone else has it for a lower b/o, so I negotiated with the current seller (AKA bartering).
