Only way to make it work. Not bad, just requires 6L.

you can certainly perma flicker with oros but the damage is so horrendous its not much better than a generic attack with splash.

Can you specify 'horrendous' for me? This affects my design of Unleashed. Cheers.

horrendous means even with god tier gear youre still clearing maps at a very poor rate due to a combination of innate enemy monster resist and map affixes like elemental equilibrium, and piss poor aura scaling due to low APS. In fact, a jeweled foil with 20+ ias in many cases will yield equal or more DPS than a perfect oros if you invest heavily in elemental auras.

People see 700 eDPS and go holy shit wow but fail to account for how low the weapon APS is which is crucial for scaling with elemental auras. in comparison, voltaxic only has 240 epds and even the best ele thickets are about 280 yet both will vastly outperform oros.

compared to a hyper optimized LA build which i would say has a clear potential of 9/10, the same gearset with an oro's flicker or spectral throw has a cieling of barely 3/10.

I'm currently working on a flicker build with Oro's, Blood Dance, and Kaom's Heart(if I can ever get one) running Arctic Armour and Vitality off of the Blood Magic keystone(or Grace and Anger and lower level Arctic Armour off of a Blood Magic gem) and about 17% of life regenerated/second.

Once I hit 67, I'll let you know about the damage totals.

The goal of the build looks something like this.

I run a 24k cyclone/ST Oro's build and It's my favorite build to play. Not as crazy dps as physical but it gets the job done. I like the sword.
Arctic armor MoM spectral throw.

I don't quite understand your scale there but let's say I want a 7/10 clear potential (anything higher is just cheese imo). You'd say attack speed and finding a way to overcome resists/EE are the two big hurdles?

was i just completely incoherent? but yes, you need to overcome enemy fire resistance and a innately low APS.

I wouldn't say horrendous DPS. Just meh and it doesn't scale as well with gear. Compared to certain dagger builds with mirrored gear everything is shit.

It's mostly about attack speed. Resist issues are not something special to oros.

When it comes to elemental damage builds, the biggest source of elemental damage is auras, at least in endgame(wrath/anger). Any elemental weapon with lower IAS will easily be beat by even a fast blue weapon.

Oro's sacrifice is not a slow weapon for a 2 hander at all but elemental builds do their best damage with a onehand weapon anyways. It has some nice unique properties but scaling only its flat elemental damage will do poorly compared to every other elemental build.

So to put this in point form, this is the type of elemental builds that are strong in endgame:

- They go full aura focused and use a fast rapier with resolute technique(ie what Mathil did).
- A wander build that is a combination of crit and aura nodes. This will usually reach 60%+ crit chance.
- A dagger build that hits fast and has high crit chance. This is similiar to the wand build.
- A build that uses a hybrid elemental attack such as LA/infernal. These focus more on physical nodes to scale it.

The reason auras dominate elemental builds(which leads to IAS mattering the most) is because they got buffed by more than 50% at release and the aura nodes can further boost them by another 100%. No weapon can really compete with those numbers.

For me it was a noob trap (me being the noob in this case). Looks somewhat strong on paper and is quite cheap, so I tried it. Overall pretty meh. Could be fixed if you give it something like 1.6+ APS.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
