Who else hates their fps?

I'm not really having problems with fps per se, but when major new things appear, my screen just freezes for 2-3 seconds, which easily can get you killed. in fact, that's the #1 reason why i get killed by far. i can't even think of trying out HC.

things that cause screen freezes:
- almost any first appearance of a boss
- pack of certain blue monsters, especially voidbearers
- discharge
- skeletons
- everything in the sceptre of god (boy, that thing is unplayable)
- ...

joining a party is mighty annoying, because for the next 5 minutes you're constantly freezing on every skill use.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (clocked at 2800MHz while less than 3 cores in use)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7750 (rather low end, but mostly fine
i play on Linux with wine, but performance on Windows is not significantly better.

Seems your biggest issue is it loading assets from the client file. That impacts a lot of people and happens after patching a lot. Try running pack check from the game directory to defrag that client file, try defragging and optimizing the drive and if you have enough ram try disabling virtual memory. If you have a SSD obviously don't defrag, but still consider turning off virtual memory if its on anyway (prolongs SSD drive lifespan). It goes back to the single threaded nature of the game, it freezes up on the client until the files its requesting are loaded from that client file on the hard drive.
i have 12GB RAM and no swap. and i did try putting the game on my SSD, but it did not help.

i do think that is a major design flaw. they have desync and whatnot to keep "reactivity", but then this?

in a fracturing map today, just to see what the fuss was about, my fps dropped to below 20 and my computer is barely 2 months old. i just went and killed the boss to get it out the way because it was painful to be in there, like playing on my laptop again. it's a wonder the game can be so badly optimized.

Could we all posts our dxdiag? id love to see exactly what similarities we all share, IF any at all.
hit me up @sarrow lets have fun :D

It would not prove anything to do so.

Posting CPU, GPU, RAM and drive type is enough for this.

We can also post uniengine 'heaven' benchmarking scores, drive read speeds, furmark benchmarking scores, CPUZ details of motherboard+ram+CPU, GPUZ details of graphics card and if needed stress test info from programs like prime95 to show that the hardware is stable.
I'm doing completely fine. FPS 100-250, averages around 180.

To anyone using AMD, I reinstalled radeon pro, and setup a few thing's played around with the settings and here is what I found out helps me ALOT, if I use radeon pro on path of exile tho sometimes it crashes when trying to maximize minimize or even move the window in window mode but maybe thats just my version.

Tesselation controll: Off [ or put it very low ]
vsync : Always on(double Vsync)
triple-buffering[on]
Dynamic framterate Control ( this limits FPS i limit mine to 45 ATM as it seemes to play smoother overall for me.)

If anyone knows of anything else please feel free to share what works for you!

Cant find the Tesselation control anywhere.

Other than that, did everything else and couldn't even start the game.
A setting both my nvidia and my ati cards have had and that I used a lot (even if it can run the game for the most part) is allowing the cpu to render up 4 frames per gpu cycle. You'll find it in the 3d settings of heir control panel apps and during those single digit spikes the screen will tear and look like crap but at least you'll be able to save yourself.

ex: So if it drops down to 4 fps on the gpu during a really bad particle spike or whatever, at least the cpu is allowed to run the game at 16fps with that quad frame skipping enabled.
