ch'aska the rain maker
Just met her on Standard league, Merciless with my fire witch, wich actually uses fire skills for relatively high area DPS and undead for tanking. She is equipped as follows:
She has 1170 ES and 805 HP. Main ranged AOE skill is Flameblast (1209 ind. DPS), close-up AOE is Incinerate with LMP (1688 ind. DPS), single-target skill being Fireball with LMP (2679 ind. DPS). In hard cases (like a group of hostile creatures with more HP than my Flameblast can one-shot) comes the Flammability curse. Clarity is on at all times. Piety dies very quickly and is incapable of killing my totem in time to stop it casting the first pair of skeletons (that's all I need). BoneBringer from corrupted area beneath Catacombs is just burned to a crisp with Incinerate along his skeletons. Cole, which always gave me trouble, just dies. I didn't fight Dominus yet (although I suspect that will be 80+ deaths like it was 60+ with my Marauder). When fighting the "rain maker" I've encountered a big problem: her Rain of Arrows kills me in 2 rapid shots (first kills the shield) and is impossible to avoid -- when she casts it, there's just no time to stop doing what I do and evade sufficient distance to get away from the AOE. Worse, she kills all the minions and the totem in just a couple of seconds, taking away my tanking capability -- usually with that RoA of hers. I've evaded her direct attack and Spearstorm (with a potion), but this rain is making everything complicated. So I died several times fighting her. Is there any advice for me except "avoid encounter"? |

The problem with Ch'aska is the same I have with both Wiraq and Beheader. They become crazy when you try to kill them. If you are able to kill them depends more on which build you are using than anything else.
Beheader tends to be somewhat easier than the other two, Ch'aska is alright if you can avoid her rain reliably, easiest way to kill Wiraq is probably to distract him with summons. What always works though is to just avoid them they're pretty much harmless then. |

" Mate, you barely have 2000 hp overall in merciless??? the very minimum to survive is 4k hp or ES, the miiiiiiiiiiiiiiinimum How did you even reach act3 with that low ES and HP? |

Killing this one with 260 armor, seems pretty ok atm. Must admit i did not encounter her
pre-nerfs. Full spec that is of importance in my case AA lvl 19 (-170 physical i think that is) lightning coil with 92% light resis lvl 19 molten shell on proq + immortal call (they auto proq so they help but i dont rely on them) granite flask with 82% iron skin. (i think around 6/7k armor when utilized) Pretty harsh combo of reduction but it seems to work (this also downed this boss on turbo in apex of sacrifice, since i decide to kill this one last) Edit : typo thx for that ccr5 :P, made me laugh as well (so true lol) Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes Last edited by Boem#2861 on Apr 11, 2014, 10:07:04 AM

" immortal cry is when IC procs with no charges | |
"Well I utilised caution. And died sometimes (desync or being too careless/not paying attention of mob biting my char). And where could I get the remaining 3K ES anyway? =) |

" Typo, and yes, yes it is! But my build proqs IC with 3 charges only for 4/5 seconds immunity so i'm cool, no crying was done so far due to this :p. edit : miss-typed typo (Duh) Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes Last edited by Boem#2861 on Apr 11, 2014, 10:09:00 AM

Tried her again, this time with Discipline aura instead. 10 deaths...
I was capable of running around some corners, making a "trap" for her with my Flameblast to detonate when she runs over it -- but this tactic definitely needs refining since I got killed while using it as well. Any advice? |

I met her in invasion pre nerfs and survive her spike rain long enough to log the fuck out.
I just met her again in merciless before piety and tanked the shit out if her. Only had 7k armor and that was enough to mitigate her aoe to nothing and her rain to 400-500 a hit. She doesn't gain damage on low life just attack speed so as long as you keep moving out of the way of the rain you should be ok. ps. If your armor sucks just get 2 seething pots and 3 granites and you'll be set. LLD BOTW spark/arc caster guide http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1133731
