Is anyone actually using Vaal Gems?

I use vaal fire arrow a lot

The only one I use right now is Vaal Detonate Dead. It does not really require any skills and you can One-Shot tough enemies when there are enough bodies around. I wouldn't recommend a use near the corrupted bug in the slums area... my game was frozen for something between 5-10 seconds... but the bug died.

The Vaal Gems that are useable without supports like Molten Shell or Cyclone and provide a certain use in that way propably see usage. However something like Spectral Throw or Burning Arrow propably needs some supports and will be much harder to use.

They highly favor solo play, not sure if intended.

You know what.... i didn't read a lot on those vaal gem and it's exactly what i tought they were doing...

So when i got my vaal double strike, i was like COOL!!!! i equip it went out in a zone and then.. when trying to use double strike again a pack of mobs.... WTF i can't attack!!!

Lol... anyway... it's a poor design

Let's clear a zone so i can do 1 double strike and put a mirror that will double strike 1 mob for 3 sec.... HO YA!!!!...

It really makes you question if they even know what they are doing anymore, Making Val gems replace old gems and then using the proc when its full seems like a no brainier to me and fun for the player, what they did here is just a complete waste of a good idea.

I use Vaal Double Strike on my Ranger. I save it until I run into an Invasion boss, weapon swap, activate and watch the boss die faster than my bow could possibly take it down.

Did not read the whole thread but for these gems to actually be used they need to make them do the normal skill until charged then vaal skill when charged.

Right now its a wasted slot for a gem that cant do anything 99% of the time but then again maybe thats the real reason for unset rings. Oh wait but if you use an elemental vaal skill in a lone socket you better have about 10% elemental leech from new implicits plus vaal pact or prepare for reflect death.

This is what i was expecting, i was very disapointed to find out how they truly are. i dont see myself designing a build off these, and will rarely use them as is.

How about using Vaal spectral throw to trigger onslaught buff from vaal caress gloves?

or vaal gem in multi trap?

I'm using Vaal detonate dead here and with increased area of effect it's pure win :)
