I unintentionally snorted.

So did I!
That's how I level up from Lv12 to 16 -- farming the yellow and orange mini bosses by the west of crossroad waypoint.
They are easy to kill (as long as u have a really good Lv10ish weapon or if you are range), gives very good loot, and very decent xp.

How is it counted as exploit? If it is, the next thing we know will be range being regarded as exploit.

For currency items - you can be two levels above without penalty. Each level over that gets a 2.5% penalty per level. If you are over level 68, you are treated as being level 68 for the purposes of this calculation.

For example, if you are level 50 in a level 40 area, you will get 20% fewer currency items.

Is this is multiplicative against any +% item quantity? Or does +% item quantity/item rarity have no effect on currency drops?
Actually the only "exploit" is stacking IIQ IIR gear on a high level toon and go farm oak alira and kraityn. All the IIQ's and IIR's actually make the drop penalty obsolete. Other than that, its normal boss farming

There is an effective farming range.
3 + n/16 = y
n-y-1 < n < n+y+1
Where n is your level and we round down.
So if you're level 48, your effective farming range is 42-54.

Your math is correct but your equation is b.s.
You need better parameters. Nobody level 48 will farm level 42s unless it's all unique bosses.

per the mechanics thread, IIR does NOT affect currency, not sure about IIQ.
Things with "increased" and "decreased" in the tooltip are additive ... where as "More" or "Less" are multiplicative ...
