More info on this would be awesome. I was aware of the level penalty, but it's the first time i hear about a "repeat" penalty.

It appears the Hailrake gives good drops the first time you do the medicine chest mission. Got 3 rares from him. But on subsequent attempts, gave me bad drops.

Looks like an anti farming/botting feature! Way to go GGG :D

There is no penalty for repeating an area.

There is a penalty to the drop rates of currency items only based on being high a level for the area. There is no penalty to other item types.

This is some good clarification. Could you also give away at what level advantage the drop rates start suffering? Is the penalty incurred even if you're 1 level above the area's level?

For currency items - you can be two levels above without penalty. Each level over that gets a 2.5% penalty per level. If you are over level 68, you are treated as being level 68 for the purposes of this calculation.

For example, if you are level 50 in a level 40 area, you will get 20% fewer currency items.
