Stagnant canal corrupted zone spawning endless waves of boss
I also had problems with him trying to beat him as a melee without Resolute Technique (if that even works for smoke). After 30 minutes of snake slaughter I finally came up with a solution:
As long as you can tank all the snakes he spawns, just murder a few and start spamming Detonate Dead (I used lvl 1, no increased cast speed, no supports), eventually he'll die. Should work for any character that is durable enough. Keep in mind that Vaal Detonate Dead won't work as his specters don't grant souls. | |
uhhh why the hell are all of you tripping out? ever heard of a quartz flask? combined with maybe a couple other flasks and resolute technique or the above strategy of detonate dead? using these or other logical strategies i seriously doubt it would take a party 30 minutes to clear that. just saying.

I agree.
Snake constructs desync all the time. Using spectral throw, which normally tears any mob to shreds, does nothing to these snakes because of that. When it resyncs, I'm in the middle of the pack, blinded, and with no mana. There should be some limit as to how many times it can multiply. Then you could use some hit-n-run stratgey, or change the monster type to something other than a snake, to deal with desync issues. |

I found recently that fighting this mob with the burning damage from Righteous Fire was very effective for dealing with this boss. I think he spawns copies when hit, and since RF doesn't actually hit, there were no copies. A similar strategy with Searing Bond might work as well.

Lots of awesome in this game. But, somebody laid an egg when they thought this boss was a good idea.

Just wasted 30 minutes on this fight. I had to google the boss name to figure out what was happening because I could not see the boss on my screen aside from it's nameplate when I moused over it. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my video card or what (first time I've encountered this problem) but the boss is completely invisible on my screen. I see from the other posts in this thread that this boss is annoying enough without this problem, but not being able to see it makes it a bit worse :P

ok, i know merc difficulty is supposed to be hard (too often frustratingly so!), but even so... _invisible_ bl00dy unique bosses? that SPAWN OTHERS!?? da-sh!t?? this game trolls the solo player hard - and i've never QQ'd about it on the forum before, but this is f*cking ridiculous! ...it's bad enough i die more than a dozen times at this difficulty for each level, but this is _too_ "troll-y". not only are they invisible, but they're also use smoke mine: ![]() (actually, it wasn't a complete w.o.t.: i _did_ get some sin trek boots from this area :P) ok. rant over. think i'll go + farm alts in normal diff for a night or two... :P ooh! 'member when PoE was good and fun? i 'member!
