It's working as intended. You aren't meant to be able to handle everything the game throws at you, accomplishing such a feat is extremely difficult to achieve. It's a shame you can't re-roll the mods like you can with end-game maps (Which is the intended solution to your problem if your problem was to do with end-game maps).


That would be a nice solution, yeah. It is a shame, since, if I don't have any friends online at the time and/or don't feel like organizing a group for this one tiny little area, I'll just end up skipping any with mods that make the risk/time investment just not worth the rewards and/or frustration. For me, I don't mind low rewards if I enjoy the challenge. But when it crosses over into frustrating, I'll just avoid it entirely. And when there's a very real chance I'll get halfway through and get disconnected anyway, why bother?

yeeeeeesh killed 25k snakes... glad to find out this is a bug. Please fix if so? Seems like maybe one of the thousands is the real deal to kill and I am missing the guy when blinded?

W T F doesn't cover this.

I spent 30 minutes with a friend trying to beat this thing on Cruel. I lost 75% of my XP in the battles, and despite the fact I read this forum, NONE of the snakes had any different text. It was by sheer luck that we destroyed something that dropped ONE rare, very low level item, along with about 7 normals.

Not cool at all.

'Working as intended'. For some of us perhaps and that's a selfish thought. So this boss is meant to be beaten only by SOME specific builds? That's a game-breaker right there. Definitely points out imbalance. Bosses should be beaten by all build types, regardless. Only difference should be the degree and effort - but in the end, doable.

Please fix the boss, its ultra imba, try to target him in the middle of a miriad of other snakes its just annoying and IMO really impossible to hardcore//invasion players.
Just adding support to this thread. Ran into him tonight and thought I'd try. Before long the whole area was covered in snakes. With the added smoke the boss throws out I couldn't find him, let along target and kill him. I knew he was in the smoke, but that's about it.
Please do something about this boss(bosses x 45842546643663). It is the most annoying mob by far and I have also seen the exact same mob in Vaal Ruins, with the same neverending story of killing and it keeps spawning multiples, and of course no exp whatsoever to speak of. Is that supposed to be normal?

this fight wouldnt be anywhere near as bad if the vaal gems would charge off of the copies you kill. unfortunately, they dont, so you cant just blast em with vaal detonate, as it takes entirely too many souls to charge for 1 use.

The vaal gems don't charge off of the snake corpses? Well, there goes my idea. I hadn't gotten to try it. I also tend to agree that, while challenges/areas should scale for higher difficulty and better exp/loot based on the number of people present, they shouldn't shut out as many builds as this guy seems to even on the first scale on Cruel and/or Merciless. That's just my design philosophy though, and many developers don't seem to share it on most of the games I've played.

Shame, really. I'm just avoiding most of the corrupted zones anymore. They're just not worth the frustration most of the time. They need either fun lore, fun content, or fun rewards, and the majority of them just don't have any of that for me, especially super-shadow-clone-ninjutsu-instance-crasher snake guy. Can't speak for anyone else, though.
Just experienced this boss for the first time. There needs to be a hard limit on the number of simultaneous specters he can summon (3? 5?). This is ridiculous.
