Vaal orbs wont be valuable at all

still you can throw it on a map, which will make them at least a chisel worth, but since u will use them on already nice Q% maps they will be worth around a chaos or more. Who knows.

It's a matter of utility and demand. Chaos are more directly useful than Vaal Orbs, will be used in greater quantity, and have the same rarity.

That makes the chaos a price ceiling for the vaal orb (again, assuming there isn't a giant backlog like there is right now on the legacy leagues)

False. It's a matter of SUPPLY and demand. Assuming chaos and vaal orbs have the same drop rate, the majority of chaos floating in the economy is from the chaos recipe.

Personally i make ~10 chaos from the recipe for every chaos orb i drop

So unless there is an equivalent recipe for vaal orb, chaos orbs supply will far exceed vaal orbs.

Demand is more difficult to predict. Remember chaos orbs can only be used to roll rare items and maps, while vaal orbs can be used to roll pretty much everything. I can't wait to get enough vaal orbs to roll all my shit uniques and some mid tier rares, but i'm not keen to roll anything with my chaos orbs except maps, but that's just me.

vaal orbs are the ultimate form of gambling in poe.
