[1.3] Sidra's Necromancing Ranger of Chaos (Poison Arrow) Videos/Atziri capable

Nice build! I'm currently making my way through merciless at lvl 62. During Normal and Cruel I kinda felt weak or average at best, but it kept slowly getting better and better. Getting a level in Poison Arrow or Raise Zombie really helps. Last couple of levels however (I got some big upgrades) have been really great, most white mobs die pretty much instantly. Mana and mana regen are kind of an issue at the moment, can't really use Grace or Arctic Armour yet. Zombies felt pretty much useless before getting +2 minions helmet, I still have to heal them quite often but they seem much more tanky now.

How do you guys deal with totems? Mostly "allies can't die" ones or those uniques during Haku missions.
For normal totems in a map you can just target them with a Poison Arrow to sick your Zombies on them and they will kill it dead in a few whacks. For the Allys cannot die totems surrounded by mobs, you need to toss in a few fire traps (Check my links in Carcass jack).

Totem bosses are kind of a pain in the ass. Try and keep a skelly totem up on it, throw fire traps, and keep zombies on it if you can. They will go down, but it's not the fastest thing fr the build that's for sure.

So I did some shuffling with my gear thanks to your advice, got my resists high thanks to the armourmaster and loremaster. Got to 70, did some 66 and 67 maps which were a breeze. I can now run level 15 arctic armor with 900 unreserved mana.

I still find zombies useless, they just die very fast to any aoe attacks (doggie fire breath anyone?) and in maps with mods like 'monster fire 2 additional projectiles' or 'monster's skills chain 2 times' it's like I'd have to resummon them every 5 secs.

my gear atm:
Spoiler

Now the damage is still good, the tooltip shows almost 1.9k chaos damage per second, but what's the most efficent way to raise it now? Would it be going for a better bow or quiver?

Edit: just found an Eternal Orb with this lucky fella! :)

probably a +2+1 bow. not sure why you have increased duration linked to your pa seems useless.

+2+1 4l >>> +1 5l > +2 5l

personally im in th process of 5l-ing mine, pain in the ass ...

I would drop increased duration for a damage support while saving for a +2/+1 bow which I would proably buy unlinked for 2.5-4ex and then link myself.

I will be building a Scion evasion Poison Arrow build on Rampage once the Poison arrow I am leveling on my first toon gets to 20 (23m to go) so I can GCP it - I just picked up for 2ex:

I will have to link it, but it's basically the perfect thing you are looking for. It has some attack speed so it's at a comfortable level at 1.35 per second (even though speed doesn't effect dps in the build I find it a bit difficult to play with a really slow bow) - and it has one decent resistance and room to benchcraft a second.

So for everyone playing this build on temp leagues, don't be scared off by the price of a +2/+1. I actually think the prices are pretty reasonable. And you can do it in stages - get an unlinked one 4l it - save some currency and try and 6s and 5l it later once you've saved currency again.

So I really am liking this setup but also find it super ahrd to give up my cwdt+ec+ic defense. Thinking I could save some cash on 6L but using 62, 5L bow and 6s 3/3 armor...

Bow - PA+ links, unlinked socket could be AA or curse
armor - firetrap+increased burning, then cwdt/ec/ic...

does that even make sense? Just figure the firetrap doesnt need all those links to still be ffective, could make a few damage concessions for the charges.
I don't find a CWDT setup at all necessary with this build. But if you want one, that's probably the way to do it. Be sure to keep Chance to Ignite on your Fire trap - the damage based ignite is where it gets most of it's damage from.

Does Conc Effect work with Poison arrow post 1.2? I've been hearing chatter that it doesn't alter the dps tooltip or the cloud dmg nothing. Maybe I'm getting messed with by some trolls but just curious since I dont have anything leveled to look for myself.
Yes, it works. It has always been wrong on the tooltip. The damage still takes. So you are either being trolled, or just someone spewing wrong bullshit cause they don't know what's correct, which happens a lot with this game.
