" I've been the admin of a fairly large forum for some time and I can tell you from first-hand experience that "perfect moderation" is impossible. Most of the times when people start with the conspiracy theories, the actual reason was "no one noticed it" or "they noticed it but there was no need to make a big deal out of it". If a moderator started paying attention to every little thing, they would be very ineffective at their job. Everyone learns to have some threshold of leniency. You have to be realistic about these things.

Continuing in the spirit of the day for discussing moderator decisions: I did see that post, my interpretation of Ozoug's opinion is that it's not worth a persons time/space/life reading such threads; not that the the original posters themselves are a 'waste of life'.
" If both parties conduct themselves in an honestly objective manner then there is very little room for such things as an antagonizing opinion. Mostly it's the way we communicate these opinions that potentially give rise to antagonization (aggressive, condescending etc) and this is what we moderate on. Edit: I see John Keys has linked to another thread continuing the discussion, for the sake of simplicity I'm locking these other threads and suggest following the link there.
