Electricity surge cannot be projectile. Common sense. Should have other (better then now) benefits though.

People use ST because it is singularly foolproof and anyone with a mouse hand and left-click finger can spam it into Merciless while drooling on themselves. Arguing otherwise is giving too much credit to too many bad gamers.

It also uses the same "core" passives as most true melee builds, that's a big part of it. It's definitely second to none (except possibly facebreakers but that requires some times) for leveling.
