Amazon + Bing = Free Points!!

It's all good. Take it or leave it.

My first thought when I read about the Amazon PoE partnership was "I can use Bing points to get Path points!!"

My second thought was "I should tell other people about this!"

I'm sorry if the referral link was off-putting to some people, but it seems appropriate.

If you already knew about Bing Rewards then it is of no consequence. You're likely already signed up.

If you didn't, and this is where you found out about it, technically I referred you.

In this situation a referral link seemed like the way to go.
You could have told people more about that amazon deal. You can download the game via amazon too now which in my opinion is great. Up to 1k points can be bought.
People whine to whine there's nothing wrong with referral systems, it's usually rewarding for both the sender and receiver, I've yet to come across one with penalties to any party. He posted the referral link after explaining the concept and how to get started it was optional whether or not you choose to click the link.
In the beta thanks to Starcraft42.

It is appropriate ...if you tell people it's a referral link. When you make a post about how you're just trying to help everyone, while semi-secretly benefiting, it just comes across as scummy. I don't think you necessarily meant bad by this, it's just simply bad form as I tried to warn you about in the first reply.
If only I could remember my Xbox live account password or email for that matter. Question, how significant is 200 points?
200 points is worth about $2. It works out to be about a penny per point.

Thanks. I've been going through the thread for this information. You should probably put it on the first post.

there is no such thing as "free" when using offers of commercial companies on the internet. i don't think it's much of an insult to call you "naive".

linking your bing search results with your amazon account including your real name brings both companies more money when selling your profile to the nsa (which we know thanks to mr.snowden) or marketing companies than you get from the deal.

if you're not paying for it, you're the product.

Seems like Bing is going big these days.

I've never used it, how does it compare to google? I mean, if I'm going to be searching anyways (I'm not dumb enough to believe Google isn't mining my text already...), even if it's a miniscule point gain, it's better than nothing.
"Witty remark."
