As someone who always played in HC in ARPG's and doesn't anymore, there are reasons;
1. HC modes are never even half the population of softcore modes. They just aren't. As awesome as the rush is, most don't want it. 2. As others have stated, it's nearing the end of the league. 3. Desync pretty much omits HC from this game, unless you're a true masochist, or want to limit your playstyle(s) in various ways to perhaps avoid it. As someone else also stated, Domination and regular Standard are as busy as ever. I'm sure they are down a bit in Domination, due to the ending soon bit, but overall you don't really notice it, because there are that many more players. That all said, with desync in this game, I wouldn't waste my time in HC in any league or otherwise. I've had 'lag' deaths in HC modes in other games, but they were freak occurrences in them, not every 2-5 minute deals like it is here. With desync how it is, HC is a waste of time.
