It totally is, I've always bought exalts for 23-25 chaos you just need to be patient enough for someone willing to do it. It's not scamming it's trading with someone who has agreed on the price.

I just sold an exalt for 32c

"It is designed around a strong barter-based online item economy" <--- that shattered when devs referred to orbs as "currency", so no, this is not barter based economy. Bartering and haggling are not synonyms.

This is currency based economy, this is currency based crafting system.

No, it has not!
I'll say that again, no, it has not! The Alpha's Howl still sells for 3-4 Exalted, Shavronne's Wrappings Six-Linked is still 40-65 Exalted, A high roll Bringer of Rain is still 9-13 Exalted and so on. When Chaos is also accepted for these items, it is accepted at least 30:1, no lower. Prices, in general have not changed. The only thing that has changed is that people what to get your Exalted orbs off of you for next to nothing.

No, I don't believe this is correct. You might not see it right away. This is especially true with high end items where people will price based on what other people are pricing it at on their shops etc, and the shops don't necessarily get updated in real-time based on the fluctuating value of the Exalted Orb.

However if you look at the market of things selling for 20-60 chaos, your chaos does buy you more value now. So saying that the value of currency hasn't changed is incorrect.
This is not a "prevent scam" thread. This is more like a "save my exalted orbs" thread. More or less people can sell anything for less if they are bothered to wait or want a quick trade. What you are doing is just trying to keep the price of your exalted orbs high, because probably you can't get through the cheaper sellers.

What you are doing is not wrong, just the title is.
OP, I read your post.
1 thing comes to mind, you didn't sell you exalts before the price dropped so now your trying to convince people to bring the price back up to where you can bail out of them.

lolz

which scam should look out for now ?
Exalted orbs should never be worth 30+ chaos. That's obvious inflation and price fixing.

Can you believe that in standard, a long time ago, they used to be worth 15 chaos/5 GCPs/30 fuse each?

Inflation doesn't last forever in games like these, the prices then deflate. After a while they will inflate again, but not quite as high.

Unfortunately it isn't. Not even close.

People don't want to barter, they want every price set. And because currency has several set trade values (in game shops) that means all currency therefore has set trade value. Which means every item has a set trade value.

And thus this is not, in fact, a barter economy. At least to the 1% of players with 50% of the wealth.

Barter is not the same thing as haggle.
This message was delivered by GGG defence force.
OP, that's a lot of writing to ignore the obvious fact that the league is ending and <orb>:exalt ratios are just approaching what they will be in a couple weeks in Standard.

And no, you will not be getting 30+ chaos for your exalts in standard (at least right now; I know there has been inflation in the past).
The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard
The 82nd character to hit Delve 1000 in Standard

Not entirely true, the difference between bartering and currency based economies is that the currency has no intrinsic value, if one day everyone decided a currency was worthless it would be, but if one day everyone decided exalted orbs are worthless you would still be able to add an extra property to your items. It's bartering because the value of an orb is based on it's rarity and what it does, chance orbs are worth less than fusings but are rarer, for example. Also the dev comment on the bartering based economy was when dealing with vendors.
